I think we can all agree that stamina in ArmA is broken. I mean a trained soldier is trained to carry weight and patrol/ win a firefight when needed. Having stamina in ArmA I feel need to be removed from the servers as it's not close to real life, ingame I light jog less than 100m to be hanging out my arse lol.

I know I have been in the unit a day but I have been playing on the server and I hear complains about the stamina. I feel the MilSim aspect will be better and RP will increase. In real life if I would of said "sorry Sergeant I need to rest" in a middle of a firefight he would rip my face of with his teeth lol.

No need to remove the stamina, there is a ACE-Module that you can simply tweak to fit you prefered/realistic settings. I belive the mission currently on the realism server isint running that module

I would agree the stamina system is not great, but even still its truthful in that a soldier shouldnt be able to run several hundred meters with a full kit (SAW, launcher and max inv).

though with a standard kit (between 25-30KG) that shouldnt be as much of a issue to jog say 500m without having to stop, since youd be comfortable with that amount.

Well, we can always modify the amount of stamina is consumed by multiplier on any mission with ACE Stamina since it overrides vanilla's system.

I think removing it is not the answer but mod it is. It doesn’t make sense that raising the weapon makes u run out of stamina in less than 2 minutes, trained soldiers do it for hours and even days specially that arma doesn’t have slings but if it did as an extra attachment that would be realistic

Would be awesome to be installed a better stamina level.
Removing stamina would be unrealistic. You dont nust carry a vest, helmet and weapon. You carry ammunition, different grenades, bandages, entrenching tool etc.

I'll rip apart a mission file with ace stamina, change a few values and throw it on the R&R server, as we progress and test it and find a suitable consumption of stamina with the SOP we have set, I'll bring it up in a meeting.

Perfect, I might look trough my old missions and check the value we used, it was quiet good.

i feel like you should try running with an iotv, ach,  m4, full 7 mag combat load, and sustainment shit before asking why after jogging for 3 clicks why your character is tired. If we walked everywhere sure maybe but we god damn jog everywhere we go on uneven terrain. most of you guys are running around with 35+ Kg which is like 75 pounds. That's a lot of god damn weight. I can only speak for dismounted operations in the Arctic and NTC but im sure any of our combat vets can shed a little light about what its like to do this shit in the crappy heat and terrain of the Middle East. I for one have no issues with the stamina and is one of the reasons my Section's full kit only runs around 25 Kg

I think the problem / point that is being brought up in this post wasn't explained properly. What we were talking about is the realism server the mission that was/is running on it got no ACE Stamina module placed down, so the vanilla system kicks in and that one is horrible. Once again place down ace module/ copy it from current FTX template, paste, save, reupload, done.

I have never experienced a problem with the stamina settings on our FTXs or Missions, so I see no point of tweaking it on thoose templates.

If you want, I can get into full kit and time myself on how far i can sprint and for how long, as well as jogging speed. fast walk would be pointless because I can do that forever. This way you could have a base line from a guy whos been doing this for 6 years.

Funny thing, but the vanilla stamina system seems to me like it is pretty realistic. The unrealistic part is a combination of how we move in a video game and the insane amount of stuff we try to carry.

A light combat load is about 45 lbs or 20 Kg. Try running a mile (1.6 Km) with all that stuff jumping around in sub-tropical or tropical heat and you'll be hard pressed to keep your troops from exhaustion and/or heatstroke. If you sprint around to the limit of you ability you're not gonna make it past noon. That's why most combat is conducted at a walking pace. Sure, you sprint, jog and run from time to time, but mostly in short bursts separated by plenty of time to recover.

I adapted to the Stamina system without a problem when it was implemented. It just felt natural to fall back to my real life combat pacing and movement.

Well, I carried 20-25 kgs gear, these days. I agree with the idea that stamina is perfect as it is. You have to know when you should conserve it, when you should slow jog and when you should fast jog.
