15 years have passed since the 3rd Infantry Division Realism Gaming community sprung to life. Based in games such as America’s Army and Day of Defeat, things were very different in those days. Leadership has changed, soldiers have come and gone, but after 15 years we are still going strong.

With new games being added to our roster such as Squad, Insurgency, and ARMA 3, the 3rd Infantry Division has shown what dedication and true perseverance can do. Our current leaders are driven to see where 3rdID will go in the next 15 years whether it be with our current game lineup or a new generation of games, but one thing is for sure, We Shall Remain There.

Words from the Battalion Commander, Lieutenant Colonel John LaFlash;

Success, there is a word that rings true in the 3rd Infantry Division Realism Unit! Today marks our 15 year anniversary since the founding of this unit that we all serve in. Founded by Lieutenant Colonel D. Toby and Major J. Mathews back in 2003, at that time 3rd Infantry Division Realism unit was based around the game America's Army and Day of Defeat. It's hard to believe how much we have evolved a long way since then and we all should be proud to be apart of a unit that such a long and honorable history as the 3rd Infantry Division Realism Gaming Unit.  Not very many other units can say they have been running consistently for 15 years straight and it's been an honor to have been here myself for the last 12 years. One of the most amazing things I find that truly sets us apart from other milsim units out there is that everyone one of us had started as a Private in this unit. We all enlisted and have served in every position and every rank up to our current position we all hold!
