June 4th Alpha Company, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division were dispatched to Germany to participate in Operation Bright Star with NATO allies.
Alpha Company dispatched, from Loy Manara Airfield, 2 squads from 1st platoon to retrieve a resupply box and recon for any forces at the Rasman Airfield. They also were tasked with clearing out any enemy presences and roadside IEDs.
1st platoon was directed to provide clearance to Rasman Airfield and relieve the area of enemies and clear any roadside IEDs that may have been present. 2nd platoon was dispatched with supply vehicles and equipment in order to retrieve the resupply box containing mortars, javelins and ammo.
Alpha Company had a successful mission, securing and holding the enemy airfield and successfully stopped the advancement of the burning oil platforms. They were also able to clear out enemy forces and retrieve the resupply box.
Also on June 4th, Bravo Company, 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division were dispatched to Germany to participate in Operation Bright Star with NATO allies.
Bravo Company was dispatched to NSA Souda Bay on the island of crete. Via helicopter, they were deployed to the foothills of the Pakhnes Mountain.Once Bravo Company arrived they quickly went into action, trying to find the two high value members of command personnel who needed to be eliminated.
In this exercise, 1st platoon was tasked to search East of the Mountain and 2nd Platoon searched West. Once these areas had been cleared, they rendezvoused at the extract point. Also in this exercise, the enemy combatants were played by members of the 1st infantry “Smyrni” of the Hellenic Army of Greece. Bravo Company was able to find the high value command personnel and prevent them from being extracted.
Bravo company was very organized and adapted well to the changing circumstances of the opposing forces and were able to successfully complete their mission. HOOAH!
