Guide for Mod Setup for ARMA 3
This guide is meant for new enlistees and current soldiers for any sort of troubleshooting, CoE requests that should any issues arise, please either raise a ticket through Technical Issues forums or contact the representatives directly. You can also contact your Recruiter if you have any issues.
Head over to http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=22199 and click on “Click to Download” all the way at the bottom of the page. This will download the Arma3Sync software to your computer in a .7z file.
Open the recently downloaded file and extract it with ie. WinRAR program, and start the installation from the recently extracted .exe file.
Start your Arma3Sync, alternatively, you can click on cancel when it requests you to navigate to your ARMA3 installation folder - for this guide we will skip this to make it more flowing.
Click on the Addon Options, and there click on the blue “plus icon” as shown in the picture below
After this, navigate to where you would like to install the mods, remember that it does not create a separate folder for this but installs all relevant folders within the repository within that location. It is suggested that you create a new folder within the location and clicking the icon as shown below, that will create a new folder within the location.
After this open the newly created folder and click on Open. Here, go into “Repository tab” as shown below.
Click once again on the blue “plus” icon, to add the 3rd Infantry Division repository, as shown below.
It will open a new window where you will input ftp://mods.3rdinf.us/.a3s/autoconfig in the field as shown below, and click “Import”, after importing click on “OK”. This will add our repository.
Once imported and it’s synchronized, click on the icon shown below to connect to our repository.
This will start the checking files, if you did not set your ARMA3 folder at the very start, it will only scan your newly created or old mod folder for matches. However if you did select the executable, it will have listed that folder as the Default Addon folder. You will need to from the dropdown box right next to “Checking files” select the correct folder and start checking files again by clicking the green check icon. Once the check files has been completed, you can start your mod download as shown in the picture below. First have “Select All” checked and then hit the play button as shown below to start your download. NOTE: The estimated time is rough as it downloads each file within the mod folders individually, when it reaches bigger files you’ll get a good rough estimate on how long it will take to have everything downloaded.
Once your download is finished, open up your ARMA 3 Launcher through steam by starting ARMA3. Navigate then into “MODS” and there click on the “Local mod” as shown below.
Navigate to your mod folder where you recently downloaded the repository and select that entire folder. This will load all the mods into your ARMA3 launcher. If you had previous mods downloaded these will be marked with (yourmodfolder) right next to the mod name.
PLEASE NOTE; IF YOU WANT EXTRA CONTENT THAT IS NOT MANDATORY FROM THE “AUTHORIZED CLIENT SIDE” FOLDER, YOU NEED TO SEPARATELY ADD IT INTO ARMA 3 LAUNCHER THROUGH SAME METHOD
Click on “Load all” if you only have our repository added and then Play to start the game with the mods. If you had any previous mods, you will need to pick and choose the correct list.
BEFORE HITTING PLAY MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE THE “userconfig” FOLDER PLACED INTO YOUR ARMA3 Directory, YOU CAN COPY IT OR TRANSFER IT COMPLETELY FROM THE MODS FOLDER. IT INCLUDES CONFIG FILES FOR SOME OF THE ADDONS WHICH ARE VITAL!
Taskforce Radio requires a separate plugin installation, Quit your TeamSpeak client, navigate into your mod folder and into @task_force_radio, go into teamspeak folder within @task_force_radio and double click the task_force_radio TeamSpeak addon, this will automatically start a installation wizard to install the plugin.
