    STX #3
    Situation
In the wake of last week’s amphibious assault on Camarra Island, S-2 has utilized captured intel to track enemy movements and activities. All of it indicates a retreat and reconsolidation of enemy forces in the southeastern AO. ISIS commander Kazem El Sakka reportedly fled Camarra as 3CAB began clearing the final objective. Intelligence analysts think they have pinpointed El Sakka’s new base at Lukasa Castle.
Third Infantry Division must counter and defeat this threat in order to secure NTC and set conditions for a decisive mission against OPFOR in the region. Kazem El Sakka has been designated a High Value Target by S-2.
    Mission
Alpha Company “War Eagles” is ordered to clear the airstrip and large bridge crossing left from STX Week 1. Once First Platoon has crossed onto the southeastern island, conduct the penetration of enemy defenses and assault strongpoints and the HQ at Lukasa Castle. Kill/capture HVT Kazam El Sakka and destroy ISIS command elements. Secure the area against enemy counterattack until relieved by Turkish Army forces.
Week 3 of Exercise Shattered Rock will test each element’s mastery of Combined Arms Operations, Ground-to-Air Communications, Penetration, and Battle Drill 8. Conduct the Initial Breach of a Mined Wire Obstacle.
OBJ Ants Nest - Tamera airstrip, held by ISIS to smuggle materiel into the AO. First Platoon partially cleared this objective two weeks ago, but it has undoubtedly been reinforced by OPFOR.
OBJ Beehive - Long bridge crossing that controls movement to and from the southeastern AO.
OBJ Cat Scratch - Village of Boona, an enemy strongpoint that restricts further movement into the island.
OBJ Dog Bite - Town of Solon, a suspected ISIS VBIED factory.
OBJ Elephant Tusk - Village of Imaka, a suspected ISIS barracks.
OBJ Fox Den - Lukasa Castle, the suspected location of the ISIS HQ and HVT Kazam El Sakka.
3CAB “Falcons” is ordered to support scouting and recon of the initial two objectives in conjunction with Fifth Squad “Wizards”. Facilitate the bridge crossing and movement onto the southeast island. Support further penetration to Lukasa Castle. Falcons will provide reinsert, resupply, and medevac as requested. Viper will also provide CAS and target interdiction prior to and during the assaults on all objectives.
Coordinated movements and fires of mounted, dismounted, mortar, and air assets will maximize combat power and ensure timely completion of all assigned tasks.
Rules of Engagement: Military-age male with weapon, desert camo uniform, and combat kit. Suicide bombers are likely; warning shots are authorized. Civilian elders and property owners may be armed, but have been instructed via radio and satellite TV to remain indoors during the exercise. Do not enter any civilian houses unless there are confirmed hostiles inside.

    STX #4
    Situation
Following 3rd Infantry Division’s penetration of ISIS defenses and capture of Lukasa Castle, S-2 has exploited a veritable treasure trove of enemy intelligence. DNA and other evidence confirmed that ISIS Commander Kazem El Sakka was killed in his HQ last Sunday. His cellphones, laptops, and radios, however, provided detailed plans of OPFOR operations. S-2 has discovered that his senior lieutenant, Mohamed Yasin, has succeeded him as ISIS regional commander.
In addition, global ISIS affiliates have used revenues from human trafficking and oil production to fund a contract with Syrian PMC Hafez Security Company (HSC) to bolster OPFOR numbers in the southern AO. Led by retired Syrian Defence Forces COL Abdel Mustafa, HSC provided El Sakka manifests for multiple airlifts of armored vehicles (BMP-2, BTR-60), ammunition, and 150x armed security contractors. The PMC force was given orders to capture Kinsella city and secure approaches to the northern AO. In a text message, El Sakka admitted that remaining ISIS forces would attack NTC as soon as all HSC contractors were on the ground.
S-2 does not have reliable intel on COL Mustafa’s or Mohamed Yasin’s location(s). Given the possibility that they are in the southern AO, S-2 has designated both of them High Value Targets. NATO Intelligence Fusion Centre is assisting S-2 with additional intel exploitation to pinpoint Mustafa.
    Mission
Alpha Company “War Eagles” is ordered to conduct an airborne drop onto DZ Barmaid. Together and in conjunction with Air, Reconnaissance, and Forward Observer assets, Infantry will close with and destroy enemy forces, capture Kinsella International Airport, Kinsella, and Djolan, and thereby prevent OPFOR attack(s) on NTC. Kill/capture HVT COL Abdel Mustafa and ISIS commander Mohamed Yasin. Secure the area of operations for hand-over to Turkish Army forces.
Week 4 of Exercise Shattered Rock will test each element’s mastery of Combined Arms Operations, Airborne Operations, Movement to Contact, Exfiltration, and Battle Drill 2. Conduct a Platoon Assault.
OBJ Jägermeister - Kinsella International Airport, southern AO aviation hub and base of operations for Hafez Security Company’s force. The airport has 2x large hangars, a heliport, ATC, and light defensive positions around the perimeter.
OBJ Goldschläger - City of Kinsella, the regional urban center. The large city has a number of multistory buildings as well as a likely ISIS HQ on the southwest edge of town. The surrounding areas host abandoned military bases that may be utilized by ISIS and/or HSC.
OBJ Rumple Minze - Village of Djolan, a river crossing linking the northern and southern areas of operations. The Turkish Army has established a blocking position on the north bank of the river. Sweep and clear the objective to eliminate remaining enemy forces. 3CAB “Falcons” is ordered to insert airborne elements at DZ Barmaid via static-line jump from 2x C-130. Support scouting and recon of the initial objectives in conjunction with Fifth Squad “Wizards”. Provide CAS and target interdiction in conjunction with Platoon FO “Foxtrot”. Exfil ground forces to NTC for ENDEX.
Coordinated movements and fires of dismounted, mortar, and air assets will maximize combat power and ensure timely completion of all assigned tasks.
Rules of Engagement: Military-age male with weapon and combat kit. Suicide bombers are likely; warning shots are authorized. Civilian elders and property owners may be armed, but have been instructed via radio and satellite TV to remain indoors during the exercise. High Ground
    Situation
Alpha Company “War Eagles” has completed movement to FOB Eagle Eye and is ready for combat operations in Turkey. Following the set up of command, control, and communications systems at the new Company HQ, First Platoon is ordered to move south to conduct its first mission in Kazimiyah Valley.
The Turkish Army has been skirmishing with ISIS forces in the mountains south of Musul for several weeks, and Ankara reports additional enemy troops are moving north from Syria. Based on information gathered from ISR, S-2 suspects the valley south of FOB Eagle Eye is a primary jihadist smuggling route in the area.
Turkish Forces will remain in Musul Valley to give Alpha Company a free hand to combat insurgents in the mountains. It is anticipated that ISIS positions are dispersed and fortified. They are not expected to field heavy armor in this terrain, but RPG, HMG, and IED/VBIED are potential threats to friendly forces. Local civilians are mostly ethnic Kurds and are unlikely to support enemy jihadists. It may be possible to obtain information on ISIS positions from civilian willing supporters.
    Mission
First Platoon “Widowmakers” is ordered to move south into Kazimiyah Valley to engage ISIS fortified positions. The valley is characterized by steep, rugged mountains and a narrow circuit road. Settlements are sparse.
The village of Kazimiyah Közü, located on the west side of the valley, is inhabited by Kurdish civilians and may be a source of secondary intelligence on ISIS targets to the south. Widowmakers should attempt to speak with village elders to obtain details on enemy activities.
From there, continue pushing south to ISIS targets in the village of Telafer:
OBJ Dugout is a suspected ISIS covert base with HQ, barracks, and armory. Clear the position of enemy forces and destroy in place any explosives/IED. Gather as much intel as possible from enemy personnel and equipment.
OBJ Pinnacle is a suspected ISIS communications center with UHF/VHF transceivers. Capable of coordinating international comms with ISIS forces in Syria, it must be destroyed to disrupt operations. Be advised Turkish Army forces have confirmed that one of their helicopters was pinged by radars in the vicinity of OBJ Pinnacle. ISIS may have AA capabilities in the area.
Rules of Engagement: Military-age male with weapon, mixed uniform, and combat kit. Suicide bombers are likely; warning shots are authorized.

    Mounting Pressure
    Situation
Following Alpha Company’s capture and destruction of an ISIS base and communications station in the village of Telafer, S-2 has obtained intel indicating a build up of jihadists throughout Cukurca. ISIS recruits from Syria have reportedly moved into the district en masse and have gone to ground in multiple high valley encampments. Enemy forces are reported to be concentrated in the southern and western parts of the AO.
This morning, friendly Turkish forces contacted S-2 and provided details on ISIS plans for a mass-kidnapping in Al Shirqat, a town north of FOB Eagle Eye. ISR indicates that ISIS has a company-sized element scattered throughout the mountains. Reportedly armed mostly with small arms, crew served weapons, and light vehicles, they also have moved a substantial amount of explosives into the country from Syria. Self-proclaimed ISIS caliph Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurashi has ordered his forces to use IEDs as a primary weapon against US forces in southeastern Turkey.
Turkish Army and police units have established a checkpoint in the village of Köysancak, which controls the roads leading to Al Shirqat, and have garrisoned Al Shirqat itself. NATO IFC is also working employing drones stationed at Inçirlik to obtain additional intel on enemy locations.
    Mission
First Platoon “Widowmakers” is ordered to stand ready as QRF to the Turkish Army forces north of FOB Eagle Eye. Infantry, scouts, and air elements must be prepared to move through the Turkish checkpoint at Köysancak to relieve friendly units in OBJ Fanaa, the town of Al Shirqat. NATO forces are tasked with protecting civilians from ISIS attacks/kidnappings there.
OBJ Fanaa is a small Kurdish town of mostly mud brick architecture. It sits on the Great Zab River, which is currently very shallow.  Use of explosives is prohibited due to the risk to Turkish forces and civilians.
Rules of Engagement: Military-age male with weapon, surplus/mixed pattern uniform, and combat kit. Suicide bombers are likely; warning shots are authorized.

    Presence Patrol #1
    Situation
With the capture of Al Shirqat and a nearby ISIS camp, First Platoon has collected a treasure trove of intel detailing ISIS smuggling operations in Turkey. Working with NATO IFC and the Turkish government, S-2 has pinpointed a hotspot of enemy activity along the border with Syria, within 10 km of FOB Eagle Eye. The border region is characterized by very dry desert conditions, with broad, open valleys and high ridges.
S-2 has identified Mahmoud ibn Bashi as leader of the ISIS smuggling cell operating in the AO. He has built an HQ and several jihadist camps, supported by fuel and supply depots, a comms station, and an IED/VBIED factory in the desert along the border.
ISIS leader al-Qurashi has ordered additional fighters to move into Turkey from Syria with BM-21 rocket artillery trucks. This could be Alpha Company’s opportunity to cut them off at the pass.
    Mission
Alpha Company has been been ordered to move south in order to sweep and clear Patrol Area BASTY, a roughly 25² km zone containing ISIS offensive, defensive, and logistical positions. The Area of Operations is part of a known ISIS smuggling route that has moved thousands of fighters and thousands of vehicles and heavy weapons over the border. Enemy transfers of men, weapons, and materiel provide the majority of their assets in Turkey. We must destroy this logistical train in order to secure US and NATO operations in Cukurca.
Rules of Engagement: Military-age male with weapon, surplus/mixed pattern uniform, and combat kit. Suicide bombers are likely; warning shots are authorized (50 m for dismounts, 100 m for moving vehicles).
