    Trip Hammer
    Situation
In a desperate attempt to survive against overwhelming odds, ISIS regional commander Tariq Bakkal has stormed Musul City Hall and taken mayor Çeki Dinçer hostage. Bakkal has placed suicide squads across the city, overrunning the Turkish Army garrison on the east side of town and several police checkpoints. The terrorist commander has also demanded the release of all ISIS prisoners held by NATO and free passage by air to the Syrian border, or else he will destroy Musul.
Hurras al-Din militants, having heard reports of the attack, have begun to amass east of the Musul metropolitan area. S-2 is convinced that the al Qaeda affiliate will attempt to take advantage of ISIS' failure and use Çukurca as a base of operations against US and NATO interests in the region.
    Mission
Alpha Company is ordered to assault through Musul and its environs in the river valley. First Platoon “Widowmakers” will conduct a mounted/dismounted ground movement through OBJ Ark (suburban hamlet), OBJ Bireme (Musul City), and OBJ Camel (village of Ali Rash Köyü). Priority sub-objectives are Musul City Hall and the Turkish Army HQ.  Rescue mayor Çeki Dinçer and any Turkish Army or police found alive in the AO. Capture ISIS HVT Tariq Bakkal for exploitation.
3CAB “Falcons” is tasked with general air support including reinsert, resupply, HVT exfil, and CAS. Eagle and Viper must protect the infantry’s eastern flank against HAD militants who may attempt to infiltrate the objective area. Extract HVT(s) to FOB Eagle Eye for medical treatment and questioning.
Rules of Engagement: Military-age male with weapon, mixed camo uniform, and combat kit. Suicide bombers are likely; warning shots are authorized for incoming vehicles at 100 m and incoming dismounts at 50 m. Regarding all other targets, fire when fired upon.

    Presence Patrol #4
    Situation
Over the past two months, Alpha Company has completed its primary objectives in Çukurca. Following ISIS regional commander Tariq Bakkal’s capture in Musul last week, HUMINT and SIGINT show the few surviving fighters loyal to him have fled back into Syria. Enemy BDA is an estimated 1,090 ISIS fighters killed, an estimated 200 wounded, 18 enemy personnel captured, 115 enemy armored vehicles destroyed, and 139 soft-skinned vehicles destroyed, with significant loss of additional weapons, ammunition, and materiel.
Bakkal, who had initially threatened to blow himself and Musul up, broke under approximately 12 minutes of interrogation. He admits defeat, stating that he has lost track of how many of his men have been martyred since he took command. He also stated  that Hurras al-Din militants had attacked one of his camps and threatened to wipe ISIS out in Turkey. HAD engaged ISIS forces in the east side of Musul prior to Alpha Company’s assault, later attacking us as we completed our push.
Bakkal considers HAD commander Khalid al-Aruri a challenger to ISIS leader Abu al-Hussein al-Husseini al-Qurashi and thinks he wants to establish themselves as the premier jihadist army in the region. S-2 estimates that there are some 120 HAD fighters and growing in the district. He also said that Iranian smugglers were increasingly present in Southeastern Anatolia, selling drugs, weapons, and equipment to militants.
The Turkish 3rd Special Forces Division, suffering very heavy losses, has been moved from Çukurca to Diyarbakır for reorganization. In their place, 4/7 Infantry from the 34th Border Brigade has taken over security in the district and is moving into the AO.
    Mission
Alpha Company “War Eagles” is ordered to ensure security in the eastern Musul Valley in order to facilitate a smooth hand over of the district to the Turkish 34th Border Brigade.
First Platoon “Widowmakers” is task with patrolling OBJ Hearts (town of Erbil) and OBJ Minds (village of Altun Köprü) for ISIS/HAD forces and to distribute humanitarian aid to local civilians. Widowmakers will also assist with establishment of checkpoints on the two roads going in and out of the patrol area.
Second Platoon “Griffin” is tasked with target scouting and identification (friendly, enemy, civilian, unknown) in support of the patrol. In addition, Griffin may also be tasked with checkpoint duty, etc., as needed.
3CAB “Falcons” is tasked with recon of the patrol area, reinsert, resupply, and CAS as needed. Eagle should scan the mountains surrounding the area for possible HAD and Kurdish militant forces.

    Sudden Lodos
    Situation
Alpha Company “War Eagles” has deployed to the Turkish island of Bozcaada, located off the country’s Mediterranean coast. Known predominantly for tourism, the small island has been overrun by ISIS forces moving in from northwestern Syria after the jihast collapse in Çukurca. Turkish National Guard and local police units maintain a small presence in the military base and the capital city of Merkez, but the remainder of the area is effectively in enemy hands. Locals are reporting mass kidnappings and murders by ISIS forces as terrorists consolidate their gains.
3rdID is ordered to assist NATO forces in recapturing Bozcaada, capturing and/or destroying all ISIS forces, and providing aid to the local population until security is re-established.
    Mission
Alpha Company “War Eagles” is ordered to secure the area south of the Bozcaada military base. Turkish National Guard units reported a heavy ISIS presence in the national guard camp (OBJ Sentinel) and the village (OBJ Watchman) along the island’s southwestern coast. This has been confirmed by NATO IFC, which has proof of armored vehicles and heavy weapons are deployed in the vicinity of the military base.
First Platoon “Widowmakers” is tasked with capturing the 2x objectives and eliminating ISIS forces and materiel therein.
Second Platoon “Griffins” is tasked with reconnoitering the 2x objectives prior to the assaults. Identify and mark armored and other targets for ground and aviation to destroy. Provide a security screen for the main force and eliminate secondary enemy forces if encountered.
3CAB “Falcons” is tasked with transport, logistics, and CAS duties as required. Assist recon elements with scouting and engage armored targets per FO or if fired upon.

    Presence Patrol #5
    Situation
Last Sunday, ISIS launched a coordinated attack on FOB Anderson and revealed a large contingent of enemy personnel and equipment in the AO, including armored vehicles. An Mi-8 confirmed to be of Iranian origin was also shot down by First Platoon during the mission. Despite the lack of Turkish military and police presence, War Eagles successfully counter-attacked and destroyed enemy forces located on the southwestern part of Bozcaada.
However, local village officials are infuriated by the damage to property and the repeated threats to life and limb posed by ourforces. Several elders have accused the M2A3 Bradley IFV used last Sunday of firing on them and their families during the battle for OBJ Watchman. A Turkish official presented a list of damaged homes with pictures to the US Army, claiming $120,000 in damages.
    Mission
Alpha Company “War Eagles” is ordered to patrol northeast of FOB Anderson to search for enemy fighters and equipment. First and Second Platoons are tasked with sweeping and clearing Patrol Area Buzbag. Secure OBJ Sunburn, the solar power plant, to ensure electrical supplies to NATO and civilian grids. Then hand over custody to local police and utility workers, who abandoned the site during last week’s fighting.
In addition, ground forces are tasked with meeting with civilian leaders to improve PR and develop stronger local support in operations against ISIS. First Platoon HQ must move to POI Arch to locate Turkish civilian rural councilman and business leader Ahmed Kaya. Kaya, who holds a monopoly on real estate construction and sales, is seeking $120,000 monetary damages from loss of property during the assault on OBK Watchman. It is imperative that 3rd gain his support for operations in more densely populated areas to the east.
3CAB “Falcons” is tasked initially with removal of vehicle wrecks left from last week’s mission. Additional duties include infantry/recon insert/extract, medevac, resupply, humanitarian assistance, and CAS.
