Mission Summary

First thing that Phoenix went through was a discussion about different enemy vehicles we encounter and what they are called. I made sure that Phoenix doesn't confuse BTRs with BMPs and vice versa. Next we discussed spacing by having the squad build a trench line to see how they deal with spacing, which they did well with adequate spacing.

We begun the mission by moving into the town of Kirkonkylä from the North. One team drove a Stryker while the other was on foot. I let both teams communicate with each other when clearing buildings along their way to Objective Hush and Objective Diamo and they did a good job at it, the on-foot team told the Stryker team where to watch while the on-foot team cleared buildings. Throughout the mission there were very minimal casualities even though the enemy was consistently closing down on them.

Only things to note was that the Stryker team did not attempt to keep their vehicle behind cover and I had to "encourage" them by firing rockets towards their direction, and eventually they got the message. Other thing to improve is that on our way to the objective, no one was watching the road for IEDs and our vic hit one which resulted with it being completely destroyed. I raised both of these points up at the debrief and hopefully the squad will learn on their mistakes.
