Areas of Strength
Squad training for radio management went well, medical from PFC Simmons was on point. The Squad kept good spacing and continued to be aggressive despite slightly high casualties as we moved through the town. The Squad is gelling well and attendance as well as learning from training is really beginning to pay off.
Areas of Weakness
CQB could use some work, simply because we sustained high casualties as we went through the beginning of the town. With a lack of needed focus going in the past few weeks it is something I want the squad to start focusing on. Overall the main weakness is attendance, but not unexcused absences, just peoples real life issues.
Suggested Improvements
Incorporate CQB in future trainings and set up a more intensive and hands on control of attendance. Overall current training regiment is working well.
Mission Summary
First moved into the LZ and consolidated on the small town. I conducted Key Leader Engagement with the locals and gathered good intel in regards to what was happening around us. From there Scorpions moved to OBJ Rotunda and assisted 3rd with SBF into the town. From there our Squad moved into the town to secure the IDAP hostages. While we were securing the compound an RPG team began shooting at the building and killed the IDAP hostage. From the Scorpions moved across the road to eliminate the threat and continued pushing north to clear the rest of the town. After clearing the town the Squad moved and cleared the enemy ambush site east of the staging point for OBJ Column. Once cleared we moved to clear OBJ Column and ambushed the compound with minimal casualties or injuries. After it was secured we commandeered a HMWWV with an M2 and engaged enemies during the counter attack.
