    • Train on platoon assault
      • Envelopment attack
      • Flank attack

    Accidents

    Areas of Strength

    • Planning by the SLs; SLs having ownership over their plans also increases the effort put into adhering to and completing the plan.
    • Adaptability to equipment; Polish squads were effective despite using completely different gear to what they were used to.

    Areas of Weakness

    • AT; Enemy armored vehicles were operational for too long, causing major damage to the platoon and its assets.
    • Using Polish vehicles; It became obvious that the optics on Polish Rosomaks are set up for mid-long range engagements. Squads moved their Rosomaks too close which caused the gunner to be quite ineffective.

    Mission Summary

First platoon assembled at a staging area to teach about envelopment. SFC Brock taught the relevant tactics and theory and the SLs had an opportunity to cook up a plan of attack. The platoon maneuvered around the objective and cut off any roads leading into the objective, preventing enemies to escape or re-enforce the objective while Spartans caused a distraction on the front line.

Once the platoon has cleared the objective, they assembled again in a new staging area where this time 1LT Drake taught the theory on flank attack. The SLs once again created a plan of attack and after about 5-10 minutes they started their assault. This time both Spartans and Phoenix distracted the enemy with a frontal attack, while Ghosts and Scorpions used terrain features to flank the objective and cause havoc from within.

Overall each practice lane took ~1 hour and feedback regarding the theory was better than last year, so going forward the platoon will continue to employ this way of work when rehearsing our doctrine.
