  • Mission Patrol #10

    Start: 08/14/22 19:00
    End: 08/14/22 21:30

    Situation

In the aftermath of Mission: Molten Pillar, elements from 1st Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group and Lithuanian Special Operations Force Special Purpose Service picked up where Alpha Company left off. Over the course of nearly 24 hours, BLUFOR captured the city of Miroslavl from Wagner Group forces, securing the county. The Tsar Bomba was successfully moved off the coast to a secure vessel. Intelligence recovered in Miroslavl revealed that Wagner Group MAJ Danilo Kuzman, who evidently was killed by First Platoon while trying to flee the airbase, had planned to relocate his battalion to Panthera to regroup.

Panthera sits in the eastern Baltic near Lithuania’s maritime border with Kaliningrad. It has a mixed population of ethnic Lithuanian and Russian residents, as well as a small immigrant population. Although largely peaceful until last year, Panthera is a known as a gateway to Western Europe by smugglers moving drugs, weapons, people, and other contraband. Although the island does not appear ideal for an insurgency attempting to overthrow the national government, it does offer terrain conducive for covert operations and caching. In the past two months alone, Russian separatists have conducted 3x raids and 1x ambush on Lithuanian Land Forces.

Second IBCT has tasked Alpha Company with establishing a base of operations on the island to disrupt Russian separatist and Wagner Group activities and to attrit their forces.

    Mission

Alpha Company is ordered to establish a FOB at Airport Lesce, a NATO outpost being transferred from the Turkish Land Forces 66th Mechanized Infantry Brigade (NATO Very High Readiness Joint Task Force).

Once the transfer is complete, First Platoon will patrol two valley systems located southwest of FOB Rocky, Patrol Area Hike and Patrol Area Stroll. There are a number of civilian villages and hamlets in each, as well as potential cache sites. Enemy forces may be encamped in the surrounding mountains, which are concealed by thick forest. Search for signs of Russian separatist and Wagner Group presence, and collect as much actionable intelligence from the local populace as possible. If possible, make contacts with community leaders to develop long-termintelligence sources.
