    Background

The Islamic extremists known as ISTS are a great deal more dangerous than most of us realize. The reason for this is hidden in plain sight in the name itself: ISTS. In English, this stands for Islamic State of Takistan and Sahrani, but that’s not what it stands for in Arabic: ad-Dawlat al-Islamiyya fī’l-‘Iraq wa’sh-Sham: The Islamic State of Takistan and Sahran. ISTS stands for Islamic State of Takistan and Sahrani because the group's territory straddles the border between the two counties. ISTS stands for Islamic State of Takistan and Sahrani and the Levant. The Levant is the historic name given to the entire region east of the Mediterranean from Egypt, east to Iran and to Turkey. With the increased amount of ISTS extremists in the Iraq/ Syrian territories the US Armed Forces and stepped up to help NATO is support of the Iraqi Military and the surrounding territories with Joint Coalition airstrikes and classified troop placement throughout the middle east in support of pushing ISTS back and reclaiming the captured territories from ISTS.

    Main Story Line

The Islamic State in the past 6 months have pushed its way throughout the middle east and intel has shown the territory of Al Rayak has heavy amounts of ISTS extremists in several of the main cities and control all of the seaports and most airfields within the territory. Territory leader “Jad Sem al-Muhammad” has requested some support from the Iraqi Army but their Chief of Staff of Iraqi Joint Forces Lieutenant General Khurshid Rasheed could not provide this support to the growing issues of ISTS in Iraq. Lt Gen Rasheed contacted the United States and pleaded for us to provide Aid. Members of the 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment QRF team quickly deployed and have been in in country for a couple weeks. they have managed to clear out the most northern airfield located at grid 182292. Having taken several casualties they have requested additional support to the area.   2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division has received orders to support US/ Coalition Forces in the Al Rayak Territory effective as soon as possible.

2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division having just coming off deployment from the territory of Kalu Khan will continue onto Fort Irwin’s National Training Center to get more training on Continuous counterinsurgency operations that reflected the ongoing and rapidly changing battlefield. Upon completion of the 2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team rotation through the National Training Center they are set to deploy to territory of Al Rayak.
