Last week, Iraqi forces started a major offensive on the town of Arbíl, to further secure the MSR that is leading from Turkey to Baghdad, delivering foreign aid. But with the Iraqi military recklessly throwing soldiers into the Iranian lines, the offensive failed. Now Iranian forces are gathering up near Mosul for a possible attack.
First Platoon is tasked with paradropping near the town of Kalae Noowi, and securing the military airfield (Drop Zones recommended by S-2, see Intel for more). Local Intelligence also suggests that a Iskander missile system is also present at the airfield, but so far, recon missions were unable to locate the system. If found, it is to be immediately secured, reported to HQ, and if possible, it is to be retrieved by 3CAB, and delivered behind the Iraqi lines.

(a) GENERAL INTEL
Drop Zone Obsidian is the safest Drop Zone according to our Intel, with minimal patrols in the area, and a hill in between the DZ and the Airfield, providing concealment to the troops during the Paradrop from AA Fire.
Drop Zone Magma, although closer to the Airfield, there is a higher risk of Iranian Patrols in the area, along with Armored elements stationed in the village next to the DZ.
Drop Zone Volcano is recommended ONLY if no other Drop Zones can be used. Providing little to no cover from the Airfield, and with the biggest risk of the Iranian Garrison spotting the Parachutes.
After the assault on the airfield started, Iraqi artillery will destroy the bridges leading into the airfield, to hopefully slow down armored reinforcements from the town.
3x F-16s from the 31st Fighter Wing will also be circling the area to destroy any potential Iranian Air assets, although, with the threat of the attack on Mosul, they might be pulled off in case the assault starts.
