After first joining the Division in December 2021, 2LT Fox began his career as an Aviation Crew Chief before quickly entering flight training and earning qualification as a Rotary Wing Aviator. Following a brief separation from service, he returned to the Division in August 2024, once again proving his dedication by rebuilding his career from the ground up. Through exceptional performance and professionalism, he rapidly progressed through positions of increasing responsibility, serving as an Army Aviator, Flight Leader, Section Commander, Detachment Command Chief Warrant Officer, Platoon Leader, Officer in Charge of Combat Imaging and Documentation, and Officer in Charge of the Recruiting and Retention Office. A lifelong advocate for professional development, 2LT Fox distinguished himself not only as a student but also as an instructor. Throughout his career he completed Air Assault School, Airborne School, Ranger School, the UH-60 Black Hawk Advanced Airframe Course, the UH-60 Instructor Pilot Course, CH-47 Advanced Airframe Course, Warrant Officer Advanced Course, Officer Candidate School, and numerous leadership and aviation programs. His willingness to teach and mentor countless Soldiers ensured that his influence extended far beyond the missions he personally flew. As an aviator, 2LT Fox achieved qualification on the UH-60 Black Hawk, AH-64 Apache, CH-47 Chinook, and OH-58 Kiowa, earning recognition as one of the unit’s premier rotary-wing pilots. His dedication to aviation culminated in the award of both the Senior Aviator Badge and the Master Aviator Badge, reflecting his exceptional skill, leadership, and commitment to excellence in Army Aviation. Throughout his service, 2LT Fox participated in every major campaign undertaken by the Division during his tenure. His operational experience included Operation Northern Lights in Finland, Operation Egyptian Collapse in Egypt, and Operation Wet Feet in Georgia. Whether leading Soldiers on the ground, commanding aviation elements, or serving in key staff positions, he consistently demonstrated sound judgment, calm leadership under pressure, and an unwavering focus on mission success. His outstanding service was recognized through numerous decorations and awards, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, multiple Armed Forces Service Medals, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Army Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, Valorous Unit Award, the French Fourragère, Combat Action Badge (Third Award), Ranger Tab, Basic Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Master Aviator Badge, multiple Overseas Service Bars, and numerous Expert Marksmanship qualifications. Beyond his operational accomplishments, 2LT Fox devoted countless hours to strengthening the unit through recruiting, training, force improvement initiatives, and instructional leadership. Whether developing new recruits, improving training standards, mentoring warrant officers, or leading Soldiers as a platoon leader, he consistently placed the success of the organization above personal recognition. His professionalism, accessibility, and passion for developing others earned him the respect of officers, warrant officers, noncommissioned officers, and enlisted Soldiers alike. Over the course of his distinguished career, Second Lieutenant Jake Fox exemplified the qualities expected of a leader within the 3rd Infantry Division Milsim. His contributions to Army Aviation, officer development, recruiting, and operational leadership have left a lasting mark on the Division that will continue to benefit future generations of Soldiers. 2LT Fox will be retiring at the rank of 2LT and will be receiving an ARCOM for his service to the unit.

For exceptionally meritorious achievement while serving in Platoon leadership throughout the calendar year 2025, each of the individuals recognized demonstrated outstanding performance, significantly contributing to the overall success of the Company. Their commitment to learning and adaptability ensured seamless integration within the Company's standards and operations. The efforts of these individuals have been instrumental in fostering clear communication, shared objectives, and disciplined execution across the formation. The Platoon leadership upheld unit standards, developed future leaders, managed multiple elements, and consistently led from the front during both combat and DMOS operations. Their influence and support have been vital to the development and professionalism of over 70 personnel, ensuring the unit remains at the forefront of excellence over the last 11 months of FTX and operations. Without their dedication, resilience, and focus, our Platoons and Company would not have achieved the current level of success we currently have seen. Each individual mentioned has made sacrifices that surpass the expectations of service within the unit, regardless of whether they were formally in position or temporarily fulfilling roles. This exemplifies their commitment to the 3rd ID Realism MILSIM. Through their adaptability, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to excellence, SSG Nagy, SFC Ivanov, CW3 Lotus, OCS Fox, 2LT Byrd, and 2LT Duck have made a significant and positive impact on unit effectiveness, leadership cohesion, and mission success. Their actions reflect great credit upon themselves, the unit, and the United States Army, warranting the award of the Meritorious Service Medal.

For extraordinary heroism in aerial flight as a pilot in the MH-60M DAP during Operation Head of the Snake on 23 November 2025. Officer Candidate (O.C.S.) Jake Fox displayed exceptional flying skill, tactical proficiency, and unyielding courage while executing a critical mission in a high-threat environment. During the operation, O.C.S. Fox led a daring air assault over enemy positions, directly engaging and neutralizing a significant threat to U.S. and allied forces. Displaying superior airmanship and precise weapon employment, O.C.S. Fox successfully executed an air-to-air kill against an enemy combatant aircraft, neutralizing the hostile aircraft with a devastating and accurate gun strike. In addition to this remarkable achievement, O.C.S. Fox demonstrated remarkable skill and tactical decision-making by eliminating two surface-to-air missile (SAM) sites that had been actively targeting coalition aircraft, thereby reducing the risk to critical air assets during the operation. Throughout the mission, O.C.S. Fox also provided close air support for ground forces by striking multiple enemy armored vehicles, disabling key enemy equipment and contributing significantly to the success of the operation. His unwavering commitment to mission success and his decisive actions directly impacted the defeat of enemy forces in the area, enhancing the overall effectiveness of U.S. military operations. O.C.S. Fox's heroic actions and exceptional leadership in the face of danger reflect great credit upon himself, the United States Army, and the Department of Defense. His actions were in keeping with the highest traditions of military service and exemplified the core values of duty, honor, and courage.
