Chapter 1
1-1. Overview
3rd Infantry Division prides itself on having a recruitment and training program closely aligned to the real United States Army. Due to this, new recruits will undergo a specific training regimen, intended to ensure all soldiers learn the standards of the Third Infantry Division Realism Gaming Unit. This training will also ensure all new soldiers are given the tools needed for successful career progression.
1-2. Stamp Outline
The 3rd Infantry Division utilizes a process of stamps that allows us to effectively manage and process enlistment applications.
These stamps consist of:
- -In-Progress
- -On-Hold
- -Withdrawn
- -Dropped
- -Denied
- -Delayed Entry Program
Chapter 2
2-1. Entry Requirements
We have a specific set of minimum entry requirements that must be met to enable an applicant to be successfully enlisted into the 3rd Infantry Division and enter our training pipeline. All applicants must meet this minimum level before their application is able to be processed.
- -Minimum age of 15 Years or older
- -Applicants must utilize a role-play friendly name. The name with which you apply does not need to be your real name, but it must be a realistic name that can be utilized easily in combat.
- -Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English, Mature demeanor & positive attitude
- -Not a member of any other realism/milsim/unit/clan that engages in the games that 3rd Infantry Division Supports (ARMA)
- -Ability to attend unit events that occur throughout the week
- -Have a working, legal copy of Arma 3
- -No Bans (VAC or comprable system) / If over 365 Days old will be considered (Company Wavier needed)
- -Has teamspeak with a working microphone
- -A Steam profile with no racist or offensive comments, groups or descriptions, and public steam profile.
These requirements are non-negotiable and must be met to be successfully processed through the application phase.
2-2. Multi-Unit Policy
Soldiers may participate in other era milsim units (Vietnam, WW2, Starsim, 40K, Ect) without any restrictions with the 3rd Infantry Division Realsim Unit, However Soldiers are capped at the rank of Specialist if involved in other modern-day milsim units supported by the unit, with restrictions on certain DMOS positions with COE, CID, FIG.
This revised version incorporates the Multi-Unit Policy, ensuring clarity and consistency in the unit's approach to soldier involvement in other milsim units.
2-3. Application Outline
All new applicants to the 3rd Infantry Division go through a systematic and standardized application process when applying to join the unit.
Applicants are required to fill out one of our application forms which can be found on our website. This application includes several key sections of information including;
- -Personal Information
- -Game Information
- -Communications
- -Unit Related Questions
The application form will provide the unit with a variety of information that can be utilized to successfully process all applicants into the unit. Because of this, you must fill in all information truthfully and accurately, as it’s subject to the Articles of Code of Conduct and Behavior, Section 16: Fraudulent Enlistment.
2-4 Application Process
Those wishing to apply to join the 3rd Infantry Division should direct themselves to the “Enlistment” tab on our website and complete the prompted steps.
Applications will
- -Be reviewed within 24 hours of lodging
- -Be submitted to a thorough background check
- -Handled by a member of Recruiting and Retention.
A Recruiter will conduct an interview which should last at least 30-45 minutes and will give them an idea as to whether you are suited for official enlistment into the 3rd Infantry Division. Upon completion of this, if successful, civilians will be given teamspeak and forum permissions and assigned to a squad within their applicable company.
2.5. New Applicants
There are several categories that exist for new applicants looking to join the 3rd Infantry Division.
Category A - Applicants (16+)
Applicants who are 16 years of age or older will be inducted into the 3rd Infantry Division with the rank of Private Trainee (PVT) if successful.
This allows the applicant to go directly to One Unit Station Training (OSUT) and be promoted to the rank of Private Second Class (PV2) upon successful completion of the required classes. If the Private Trainee completes One Unit Station Training (OSUT) with honors, they will be promoted to the rank of Private First Class (PFC).
Category B - Applicants (15)
Applicants who are 15 years of age will be inducted into the 3rd Infantry Division with the rank of Recruit (RCT) if successful.
This allows the applicant to go directly to One Unit Station Training (OSUT), however they will be required to complete Thirty Days (30) from the date of enlistment before they are able to be promoted to the rank of Private Second Class (PV2). This is on top of successfully completing OSUT.
2-6. Returning Applicants
There are several categories that exist for returning applicants looking to join the 3rd Infantry Division.
Category A - General Personnel
Those civilians who have been previously enlisted with the 3rd Infantry Division and were discharged by one of the following discharge types are to complete the standardized unit enlistment application.
- -General Discharge
- -Entry Level Separation
If deemed to be within the returning application guidelines, civilians may be eligible to rejoin the unit with the following rank and grade.
- -E-0 Recruit (RCT)
- -E-1 Private Trainee (PVT)
- -E-2 Private Second Class (PV2)
- -E-3 Private First Class (PFC)
This is dependent on the rank/grade they are discharged with and the circumstances. Decision to be made by relevant Command Staff of the applicant’s perspective chain of command.
Category B - Honorable Personnel
Those civilians who were previously enlisted with the 3rd Infantry Division and received an Honorable Discharge may be eligible to rejoin the unit with the following rank and grade.
- -E-2 Private Second Class (PV2)
- -E-3 Private First Class (PFC)
- -E-4b Specialist (SPC)
This is dependent on approval by Command Staff of the applicant’s prospective chain of command.
Category C - Retired Personnel
Those retired personnel who are looking to rejoin the 3rd Infantry Division and receive a Retirement may be eligible to rejoin the unit with the following rank and grade.
- -E-3 Private First Class (PFC)
- -E-4b Specialist (SPC)
- -E-4a Corporal (CPL)
- -E-5 Sergeant (SGT)
This is dependent on approval by Command Staff of the applicant’s prospective chain of command.
2-7. One Station Unit Training
Upon enlistment with the 3rd Infantry Division Realism Gaming Unit, all soldiers are required to complete 3 phases of Training. Initial Entry Training (IET)/ New Soldier Orientation, Basic Combat Training (BCT), and Advanced Individual Training (AIT). BCT and AIT are collectively referred to as One Station Unit Training (OSUT). All soldiers are required to complete OSUT within one month (30 days) of their enlistment date. Upon completion of OSUT, soldiers will be eligible for promotion to Private Second Class (PV2), or Private First Class (PFC) if graduating with honors.
2-7.A Initial Entry
Upon enlistment as part of the recruitment process, once the application is submitted (reference section 2-4) and has been processed by the Recruiting and Retention Office, a Recruiter will conduct orientation with the applicant. Additionally, the new soldier will be given the Initial Entry Training (IET) Manual covering Unit History, Army Core Values, Unit Protocols, Ranks and Insignia, Chain of Command, Unit Organization, and Ceremony Formations.
2-7.B Basic Combat Training
Basic Combat Training (BCT) is required of all new soldiers. While being game specific, all soldiers, regardless of game, will qualify with M67 Fragmentation Grenades, M9 Pistol, and M16 Service Rifle.
The course teaches Unit History, Army Core Values, Unit Protocols, Ranks, Chain of Command, Unit Organization and Ceremony. Once a soldier completes BCT they will Attend Advanced Individual Training
2-7.C Advanced Individual Training
Advanced Individual Training (AIT) is the second and final portion of OSUT and is tailored specifically to each supported game.
Armed Assault 3
Soldiers assigned to Arma 3 will qualify with the M249 Squad Automatic Weapon, M136 AT-4, and the M203. Additionally, soldiers will receive instruction on target identification, navigation, map reading, vehicle distinction, basic combat communications, formations, basic medical training, and convoy drills.
2-8. Military Occupational Specialities
Military Occupational Specialities (MOS) are the roles that soldiers fill when they are assigned to a billet within a combat unit.
All new applicants will be assigned as 11B - Infantryman and will complete their training within their respective BCT and AIT courses.
The following MOS are available depending upon the unit's needs;
- -68W Healthcare Specialist
- -25C Radio Telephone Operator
- -13F Fire Support Specialist
- -19D Cavalry Scout
- -153A Rotary Wing Aviator
- -11Z Infantry Senior Sergeant
- -11A Infantry Officer
2-9. New Soldier Orientation
The New Soldier Orientation (NSO) is our interview and assessment process that all applicants must undertake to be able to join the 3rd Infantry Division. It will take about 30 minutes and exists in the following format.
Review of Enlistment Application:
- -Discussion of Basic Information
- -Explain MILSIM, Unit Environment
- -Address each other by rank
- -Ranking System Basics (Officer,Warrant Officer,Non-Commissioned Officer)
- -Explain Unit Timetable (Ensuring Applicants can attend events)
- -Teamspeak Regulations
- -Explain Squad Drills, Field Training Exercises/Unit Operations
- -Discussion of Unit Expectations
- -Basic Attendance Expectations
- -Temporary Pass Request (TPR) and Leave of Absence Request (LOA)
- -Discharge Outline
- -Assessment on suitability for Enlistment
- -If Successful;
- -Selection of Squad/Platoon Assignment
- -Enlisted into the 3rd Infantry Division
- -Conclusion of New Soldier Orientation (NSO)
Chapter 3
3-1. Overview
3rd Infantry Division prides itself on having a recruitment and training program closely aligned to the real United States Army. Due to this, new recruiters joining Recruiting and Retention will undergo a specific training regimen, intended to ensure all recruiters learn the standards of the Third Infantry Division Realism Gaming Unit. This training will also ensure all new recruiters are given the tools needed for successful career progression.
3-2. Recruiter Requirements
- -Recruiter (79R) (Minimum rank requirement PFC)
- -Post recruitment ads on game forums/ discord recruitment areas consistently per the platform SOPs.
- -Help new recruits with mod installation required to join our servers
- -Participates in mandatory public sessions held by the RRO and attend monthly RRO DMOS meetings
- -Conduct the no less then three (3) New Soldier Orientation a month.Assist the recruit (once you have been assigned a recruit by the processor) during his interview process
- -Maintain the professionalism of New Soldier Orientations and restrict them to only those involved in the interview process.
- -Complete all assigned applications within 96 hours of assignment
- -Be the first to respond to people who is waiting on Recruiter’s Office (TS) / Enlistment office(discord)
- -Ensure multiple avenues of communication are established with assigned recruit (Discord, Steam, ect)
- -Conduct a basic background check (include past behavior in previous unit, if he uses cheats, etc)
- -Process application through PERSCOM and forums
- -Ensures that the recruit's new Squad Leader and Fireteam Leaders are informed VIA PM on website and given new soldiers name and steam information.
- -Ensure recruit posts Introduction prior to NSO conclusion.
- -Ensure recruit signs up for next OSUT/ BCT course prior to NSO conclusion.
- -Upon completion of New Soldier Orientations, assigned recruiters are responsible for retention of recruits until recruit has completed Soldier Development Questionnaire (30 -45 days TIS)
If identified as a top notch recruiter, possibility of advancement to Senior Recruiter will be offered by OIC/NCOIC.
3-3. Recruiter (79R) Training
All new inductees into RRO must complete a training phase before being full members of RRO. The training phase consists of the following:
- -Trainees must watch and read all training material provided at the initial interview with RRO leadership
- -Trainees must complete at least 3 NSO sit ins/ Shadows
- -Trainees must complete at least 1 NSO under supervision of a master recruiter
- -More training may be required at the Supervisors discretion
This training phase must be completed within the first 60 days of the trainees induction into RRO. If the training requirements have not been met or the NCOIC or OIC have deemed the trainee unfit for the DMOS, the trainee will be dropped from RRO.
3-4. Recruiter Expectation
This covers the basic information needed for all S1 Members.
- -Must report in on time and vote on clanslist as much as possible
- -Any member of Recruiting and Retention should always be in the double digits votes on clanslist
- -Must be active on the Unit Discord
- -Must be knowledgeable with unit SOPs and unit history
- -Must complete at least 3 NSO’s monthly
- -All Tickets must be answered with urgency
- -All applications must be completed within 96 hours at most
- -Real life happens but get with your other Recruiters and get it done
- -Soldier Development Questionnaires must be sent out on time and recorded by the NCOIC or OIC of RRO
- -Actively recruiting new members on all platforms of recruitment
- -Recruitment links will be listed on recruiting platforms page
- -Attend Monthly RRO meetings
All recruiters must adhere to these standards and be ACTIVE within the DMOS.
3-5. Recruitment Platforms Guidelines
As a part of RRO you can not and will not sit back and wait for applicants to come to you. We have many different platforms we recruit from and all of them must be checked daily for any potential applicants.
Be mindful that some platforms have specific rules on making recruitment posts. Whenever posting a recruitment ad be sure to adhere to the rules of the platform.
All recruiters must be active with these platforms!
Recruiting is a team effort and all of RRO is responsible for the continuation of the unit.
Any and all recommendations for changes to the recruiting platforms can be made during the monthly RRO meetings.
