For meritorious service while serving as a member of a maneuver element during Mission Flying Fish. Private First Class K. McIvor distinguished himself through exceptional initiative, technical proficiency, and dedication to mission accomplishment. During the operation, when the squad encountered difficulties with navigation systems and electronic devices, PFC McIvor immediately assumed responsibility for land navigation and provided critical guidance to the element. Demonstrating strong situational awareness and sound judgment, he effectively led the squad through complex terrain, ensuring the continued movement and orientation of the element. His actions directly contributed to mission continuity and prevented the squad from becoming disoriented or delayed in execution of assigned tasks. PFC McIvor’s initiative, competence, and willingness to assume responsibility beyond his assigned duties reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
