During Operation Egyptian Collapse, SPC Erickson has been a proven reliable soldier with his work as an automatic rifleman within Scorpions. During the campaign there were countless times where First Squad was under immense fire from an overwhelming enemy force and each and every time without hesitation he would be able to suppress and eliminate the enemies that approached. There are also many times where other squads were in Mass Casualty situations where the SPC would volunteer to be a part of the team sent to flex over to assist with the Mass Casualty event, wiping out advancing enemies every time. He also showed dedication to his team assisting wherever needed stepping up as Team Leader countless times when his Team Leader needed to be acting Squad Leader. SPC Erickson’s proficiency with the Squad Automatic Weapon paved the way for 1st Squad advance with suppressing fire assisting with the Squad and platoon’s ability to move in close and engage with the enemy, SPC Erickson continues to show his dedication, reliability and proficiency within his role in his team as well as the squad.

For the work done by SPC J.Erickson from June 2025 to the present day, the Specialist has led the Journalist Team within the Public Affairs Office, ensuring that all requirements of the team were met and exceeded expectations set forth by Public Affairs Office Leadership. The Specialist's actions have not gone unnoticed by the Leadership team of S-6, nor by his own team, members of whom reached out to SGT J.Starling to ensure SPC J.Erickson was commended for his dedication to the Third Infantry Division Realism Unit. During Shaping Operation 9, SPC Erickson was moving with first squad through an open search area when the squad was ambushed on all 4 sides. While sustaining heavy injuries, and most of the squad being incapacitated SPC Erickson remained calm and took swift action. While the squad attempted to retreat to a small housing complex, SPC Erickson woke up from his incapacitation and began immediately returning suppressive fire allowing the squad to move all casualties to the complex. Once inside, without direction the specialist went to the roof top of the house and began fighting off a three sided attack with his XM250. Without his actions, 1st Squad would have been overrun and captured or killed. SPC Erickson defeated 15+ enemies that were assaulting the squad position while ignoring his own injuries for the safety of his fellow squad members.

During Mission Sandstone, first squad was tasked with clearing multiple sectors of a long roadway where halfway through the sector they encountered an enemy strong point. During that firefight, multiple people within the squad were down, after clearing the last of the contacts in the direct vicinity, an enemy counter attack from the western hillside where a mortar pit was located started actively firing on the first squad. The enemy contacts ended up being around 2-3 squads worth of infantry with multiple RPGs that began firing on first squads position. SPC Erickson and SPC Irwin were able to get to a reinforced area of a construction building and provide a huge amount of cover fire while the rest of the squad moved to pick up downed friendly forces. Both Specialists were able to successfully take out all personnel that were firing RPGs while suppressing and moving with the rest of the squad.
