During Mission, Silent Night: The SPC was in command of this team as per usual providing cover fire for bounding squads from a blocking position in front of him when three enemy fast movers flew overhead performing strafing runs on friendly forces. The SPC was able to identify the aircraft while the strafing runs were happening, notifying the squad leader that more runs were inbound. On the final strafing run, the gun run ended up eliminating everyone from the squad besides SPC Erickson and SPC Hunter who both took extensive wounds. While collecting casualties there was information that came from Platoon that 4th Squad had also sustained a Mas Cas. SPC Erickson did all he could to save his Squad Leader and team members while also moving to help 4th Squad's remaining soldiers helping with their injuries and downed soldiers. Without the Specialist's help it is more than likely that two whole squads would have been KIA'd. The SPC showed superior leadership ability in identifying friendly forces needed assistance despite his personal injuries.

During Mission Candyland, SPC Erickson was able to successfully conduct a bound back towards a new defensive position located inside the city. The SPC, who was alone at the time with his Squad Leader being located with the Platoon Staff, was able to lead the entire squad back to the main defense position within the city center after grabbing much needed supplies and repositioning them to a center hub from the LZ. Shortly after relocating the supplies for the platoon, 1st Squad, being the only squad to have moved back to the city to prepare for the Platoon to push towards the city, began getting engaged by approximately four squads worth of Paratroopers which were dropped all around the CCP which was established by his position. With quick thinking and his great leadership, the SPC was able to get the entire squad working with full efficiency in successfully fending off the incoming paratroopers from overrunning the fall back position, while coordinating with the rest of the platoon moving back to his position. During this time, he was spread extremely thin, being the only member of leadership within the squad having to make split second decisions that could affect the entire platoon’s pull back towards the city center. Thanks to the SPC’s leadership, and composure, he was able to successfully hold the position for the platoon to return to the city center.

46Q(Journalist) - I am recommending SPC Erickson for the JSCOM due to two factors. One is that his work in the DMOS is excellent and as his team leader I have never had complaints about it's quality. One can always know that his post are well written and formatted. Second is because of how consistent he is. He has taken up the role of posting our classes and never misses a single one. He will always communicate with his team and is what members of our DMOS should strive for.
