Mission Summary
Upon hearing the enemy location, first platoon scrambled in 2 chinooks and went to assist the towns of Hyypoa (OBJ Meadow) and Ohmenluoma (OBJ Grassland). There were a couple of waves of enemy mechanized infantry using BTRs and BMPs who were stopped before they could reach the towns. While the platoon was defending the objectives, 3CAB delivered strykers which were then also brought forward to assist in the defense.
Once the enemy assault halted, the platoon moved forward to OBJ Daisy. Just before the platoon hit their dismount marker, they came under heavy fire. The town was clearly well defended by enemy infantry as well as left over armor. Reaction to contact was executed well and the platoon managed to get a foothold, albeit with several casualties. Casualties were treated in several CCPs south of the objective. Once the platoon was at full strength again, a push was made and they went door to door looking for this "Ironclaw" character. Spartans spearheaded by moving through the objective, and setting up a blocking position on the North side. Preventing any enemy reinforcements while also catching anyone trying to leave the area.
Once all sectors were cleared, but Ironclaw was nowhere to be found, the platoon had to continue blind to the next objective. While this was going on. A civilian helicopter was spotted arriving and leaving from OBJ Straw. We suspect the prime minister was on board so no deadly force was used to destroy it.
At OBJ Straw, the platoon conducted an encirclement attack. All roads leading out of the position were covered and the platoon moved inwards to squeeze the enemy out of their position. This assault went quite successfully and eventually, in the center, we found "Ironclaw". Upon breaching the room he was in, Ironclaw decided to fire back at the ones breaching the room so he was taken out. Unfortunately he was KIA. Either way, objective accomplished.
After the final objective, the platoon convoyed back to base. The way home was uneventful.
