    Objectives

    First Platoon is ordered to clear OBJ Mudslide to open a gateway and obtain positions from which to assault the other two objectives.

    OBJ Sand Dune is the secondary objective, and a military priority. There is the so-called smuggler’s airport, along with docks, equipment yards, and a communications tower. Intelligence recovered during the patrol indicates Wagner Group has a strong presence here, and they are in the process of moving additional forces onto the island.

    The final objective is OBJ Tsunami, the city of Porto Ritmo. There is a large civilian population here, and they are largely supportive of the separatist movement. First Platoon's mission is to kill/capture Wagner Group CPT Piotr Usatov. If possible, capture any foreign fighters you encounter for questioning.

    3CAB is ordered to facilitate and support the Platoon’s movements with observations, CAS, and transport. This includes the possibility of reinsertion, Medevac, resupply, HVT extract, and other missions as needed.

    Accidents

    KIA 3x - 2 TL's (separate occurrence) and 1 Team Member due to mass casualty incident. 

    Areas of Strength

    Effectively and efficiently training "Green" Privates on the go with tactics and battlefield knowledge that we have yet to cover on squad drills. Superb team work and good communication and coordination between the fireteam leaders and the squad leader which leads to successful delivery of tasks on the field.

    Areas of Weakness

    Speed and urgency on the field.  Some of the team members (new members) could sometimes not keep on the pace that their SL and TL is requiring them to.  More time and experience is needed to practice more on understanding and acting on an order that is given while under pressure. 

    Suggested Improvements

    Unless necessary, do not split the platoon too far out, especially if some of the squad numbers are low (e.g. Our squad had 9 members while the other squad had 4) as this could greatly affect the platoon's tactical capability and effectiveness.

    For example, when 4th squad was under heavy fire and was pinned down, the other squad who had 4 members could barely help us due to their numbers which resulted to a mass casualty situation as enemy forces greatly outnumbered 4th squad which eventually lost control of fire superiority.

    Mission Summary

    The platoon headed out via armed vehicle convoy towards the first objective "Mudslide". Prior to reaching the dismount marker, the convoy was stopped by a local checkpoint which indicated that enemy forces were ahead.  Upon moving forward, the convoy was ambushed on the little town of "Drazgose" where the first vehicle was immobilized. The platoon convoy moved out of the killzone and sent squad 3 and 4 to rescue the down vic and casualties.  After eliminating the threat on the ambush site and treating casualties, 4th squad then moved to the designated sector and cleared out the town of "Selepniki" together with 3rd squad. We were met with heavy contact which 4th quickly eliminated including a BMP.   

    After clearing the sector, 4th squad moved further down west to set up the planned SBF position overlook S1 and S2.   Upon arriving, we discovered that there was a bunker and a castle full of enemy contacts near the SBF position.  4th Squad went forward on clearing out the bunker and took fire from a suspected MI -24 or MI -8 helicopter which was eventually shot down.   With 4th squad not suffering from any casualty, we proceeded on to clear out the castle filled with enemy contact.  Upon taking over the castle, we then used its height advantage to mark targets on the sectors which we will be clearing out while waiting for the rest of the squad to regroup to our location. 

    Upon other squads have set up, 4th squad then spearheaded the assault on objective "Sand Dune" on S2 while 3rd squad provided fire support on the castle.  Upon successfully breaching and eliminating the sector, 3rd squad moved in and pushed on the eastern side of the airfield which resulted to a mass casualty situation.  4th squad  went to 3rd squad's location and set up a CCP together with Widowmaker Doc.  Upon successfully treating the casualties, both 4th and 3rd squad went in to S5 together where we were met with heavy AA and machine gun fire inside of the town prior to the port.  4th squad took a few casualties but eventually prevailed on taking over the rest of the sector together with 3rd squad.  

    Upon reconsolidating, 4th squad then spear headed the convoy towards objective Tsunami and dismounted on RP1.  Upon dismounting, 4th squad advanced a few meters from the vehicles when we were met with heavy fire coming from the radio tower. 4th squad was tasked to move and clear the radio tower and the following houses which were occupied by enemy forces.  Upon reaching the final house prior to the MSR, 4th squad who was spearheading the attack was pinned down in a building due to an immense amount of small arms fire. Enemy forces grew in numbers and quickly outnumbered and out maneuvered  4th squad wherein we eventually lost fire superiority as enemy forces picked us off one after another.  Eventually, 3rd squad was able to reinforce our position but due to their squad size, was still unable to hold the line as the enemy forces advanced.  

    Eventually, 4th squad together with 3rd squad made a tactical retreat and fell back to the RP point to mount up on our Strykers and headed back to the FOB.
