  • Mission Patrol #07

    Start: 06/26/22 19:00
    End: 06/26/22 21:30

    Situation

As a result of last week's mission, S-2 has exploited a treasure trove of intelligence. Captured Wagner Group Captain Domantas Petrauskas was revived by a US Army medical trauma team despite severe blood loss and brain damage. In his drugged state, he has admitted that Prime Minister Rolandas Šimonytėwas was recently moved to a safe house outside of the town of Maksniemi.

In addition, the Russian separatist deserter is singing like a bird. "Yuri," as we'll call him, has stated that the ethnic Russian population in southern Lithuania is largely supportive of the separatists, providing money and safe haven for insurgents throughout the AO. The residential cluster in the vicinity of Maksniemi is allegedly a hotbed of support. He reports there is a separatist camp in Saari that controls the docks to the south. When roads are blocked or NATO patrols are active, insurgents move personnel and supplies by boat.

Another EPW also admitted that Wagner Group has joined them in force and has already taken control of separatist logistics, intelligence, and mission planning. PMCs continue to pour into the region from Kaliningrad. A number of Lithuanian border guards are known to be complicit with illegal movements of men and weapons due to bribery.

NATO has established an observation post in the town of Marostenmaki, west of the patrol area. Lithuanian Land Forces are monitoring vehicle traffic entering and leaving the county while maintaining a blocking force during the patrol.

    Mission

Alpha Company "War Eagles" is tasked with patrolling the residential area in and around Maksniemi. Search for enemy presence, including hostile/suspicious personnel, safe houses, hide sites, caches, contraband, and actionable intelligence. Enemy Prisoners of War should be taken alive whenever possible.

Speak with Maksniemi mayor Algirdas Bartulis to create a working relationship and gain information about the separatists (OBJ Alus). In addition to phones, PCs, and documents, exploit human intelligence when possible (i.e. civilians, police, and Lithuainian militia). It is crucial that we discover the PM’s location before separatists have a chance to move him again. Clear separatist camp at Saari (OBJ Birzai) and secure the docks.

    Intel

    (a) There is a high civilian presence in the patrol area. While it is suspected that separatist supports are active, we must build rapport with the rest of the noncombatant population. For this reason:

      1. DO NOT enter civilian building(s) without cause.
      2. DO NOT detain civilian(s) without cause.
      3. Keep vehicle, HMG, and explosives usage in the patrol area to a minimum.
      4. If explosives are found in civilian areas, clearly mark the location(s) on map for engineers to clear later.

    (b) Enemy use of mines and/or explosives is likely. This may include explosive-laden drones.

    (c) Maksniemi mayor Algirdas Bartulis has an office at city hall, immediately north of the OBJ Alus marker.
