  • Mission Patrol #08

    Start: 07/17/22 19:00
    End: 07/17/22 21:30

    Situation

After seizing Antonov airbase and securing the immediate area, Alpha Company continues to dig in. From a new FOB at the airbase, First Platoon is tasked with conducting a presence patrol in the surrounding towns. Widowmakers are to look for signs of enemy presence, including weapons caches, military vehicles, explosives, etc. Soldiers must also build rapport with the civilian populace. Local support for the separatists is high in this county, but one willing informant could potentially turn the tide in our favor. In particular, First Platoon should concentrate of obtaining the locations of Russian separatist/Wagner Group forces in the area.

    Mission

First Platoon is ordered to construct a checkpoint at the bridge southwest of the airbase (OBJ Arlington). Build fortifications and control traffic moving into the area. Hold the CP until relieved by Lithuanian Land Forces. 3CAB will insert NATO personnel and vehicle at the CP.

Once this is accomplished, First Platoon will patrol the towns of Kolodez (OBJ Burlington), Beloust (OBJ Chester), Berezovets (OBJ Dayton), Zibkov (OBJ Ellsworth), and Kreshovnity (OBJ Fairview). Squads are to look closely for enemy presence. If civilians are friendly, attempt to obtain additional information about the enemy location and disposition. Enemy caches should be destroyed in place when possible, but if there is risk of civilian death/injury or destruction of civilian property, Platoon HQ must mark the cache site(s) on map for follow up by the engineers.

S-2 has noted that Lithuanian gangster Nerijus “Nero” Laskas operates in the area and owns several auto repair shops. He is known to have a house in Kreshovnitsy. Although he is a convicted criminal with a history of extreme violence, NATO IFC has given indication that Laskas is unhappy with the additional Russian presence and the problems to his businesses (legal and otherwise) they have caused. First Platoon may be able to entice him into cooperating. And in the absence of strong political leadership, he could be an asset worth having.
