  • Mission Patrol #09

    Start: 07/31/22 19:00
    End: 07/31/22 21:30

    Situation

After securing the northwestern area of operations, Alpha Company is continuing to work with local gangster Nero Laskas to pinpoint threats and opportunities ahead. According to him, a group of Russian Army generals in St. Petersburg is orchestrating the separatist movement in Lithuania. The Russian Western Military District HQ has provided a significant amount of material support to insurgents here, which explains how they can replenish their forces so quickly.

However, following the RPU 2nd Regiment’s loss of two rifle companies, the Russian Army has had enough with the local separatists’ failures. They are reinforcing the southern Miroslavl sectors with a battalion-sized element of Wagner Group PMCs equipped with mechanized vehicles and attack aircraft.

Nero said he overheard a comment from a Wagner Group officer about a “Tsar Bomba” being smuggled in from Syria. He did not know what that meant, but assumes it is a weapon or munition(s) from the  arms dealers that supplied tanks and Shilkas used by the separatists earlier in the conflict.

    Mission

First Platoon is ordered to probe south of the FOB Watchdog to locate signs of enemy presence. Patrol through Korotkovich (OBJ Minnow), Andreevo (OBJ Rockfish), Chizhov (OBJ Seabass), and Shirov (OBJ Brook Trout) looking for hostile positions, vehicles, weapons caches, and intelligence. Note OBJ Seabass is reported to be a Baltic Sea smuggling hub.

Although local support for the separatist movement remains high, a small number of civilian informants may assist us. If possible, disreetly obtain information on the “Tsar Bomba” reported by Nero. We must also determine the number and composition of Wagner Group forces in the county seat, Miroslavl.
