Mission Mission Silver Shield

Situation:

2nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division "Spartans" will be deployed to the Agadez region, gathering intelligence and protecting the local population against the Al-Qaeda subgroup, GSIM. Agadez is home to multiple Tribal Militia Groups. Some of these Tribal Groups already pledged allegiance to the GSIM, in the fear of constant raids on their already poor settlements. It is believed that as soon as the GSIM is weakened, these Tribal Groups will either ally or stay neutral towards the US Forces.

Mission:

After disembarking from a C-130 Airplane, First Platoon will be receiving a tour of FOB Silver Shield. After the tour has been completed, First Platoon will be briefed on their first mission. First Platoon will be tasked with moving to OBJ Starfish to rescue 3 US Tourists that have been kidnapped by the GSIM 2 months earlier. Due to the fact that the GSIM is using an old abandoned FOB, weapon caches might be present, if any are found, they are to be marked, and destroyed by Demolition blocks, or by air assets. Due to the nature of this mission, stealth is needed to ensure the safety of the hostages. Intel suggests minefields around the OBJ.

(a) Recon suggests 4x Technicals, 1x T-55 Tank (Unknown if operational), 1x BTR-60PB, along with 3x Enemy Fireteams patrolling around the OBJ and Encampments, and an unknown number of hostiles inside the buildings.
