NTC #25-01: Defense Evaluation

Mission
Starts on 27 Apr 2025 at 7:00 PM
Ends on 27 Apr 2025 at 9:00 PM
1: Mission Summary:
War Eagles will be evaluated on their ability to conduct defensive operations. For this week, the Company has been tasked with an Air Insert into Camara IOT defend multiple compounds in a local town. The enemy forces have indicated that they will attack to secure the compounds from US/ UN forces.
2: Area Situation:
ISIS-SP:
Who are they: This is the main resistance force in the AO. They are currently unhappy with the Egyptian Government and their friendly policies towards Western powers. Over the past 10 years, they have slowly consolidated power to the point where they have developed organized units of militia consisting of plenty of weaponry and technical vehicles, a small contingent of armor, and a small helicopter contingent within the country. Generally they are poorly trained and rely on guerilla tactics to achieve effects against forces they are hostile with. They are currently backed by the Coalition of Middle Eastern Countries (Syria, Jordan, Yemen, and Iran)
Relations with other Parties: Currently they are hostile with US/ UN Forces, Egyptian Forces, and the DEP. They have no major hostilities towards the civilian populace and commonly will strong arm local tribes for money, equipment and manpower. Additionally they receive large amounts of equipment, manpower, and monetary support from the Coalition of Middle Eastern Countries and radicals from across the middle east.
Tactics: These units will generally work to ambush their enemies with IEDs, AT teams, large amounts of militia troops, and crew served weapons. Their overall goal is to initiate with a large caliber weapon or IED and then swarm their enemy with infantry and technical vehicles. ISIS-SP is known to use minefields regularly, but will always mark them since they do not want to unwillingly harm the civilian populace. They have also been known to harass their enemies with mortars to constantly keep them disrupted as they conduct operations. They are known to be in civilian clothes and uniformed.
DEP:
Who are they: This is the fastest growing party in Egypt. It comes from a growing discontent with the iron rule of the Egyptian Royal family and Government and their disdain for ISIS-SP. They are a growing collection of tribes and younger civilians looking to peacefully bring democracy to their country. They started up in 2021 against the Egyptian Government and ISIS-SP and began growing rapidly after a series of chemical attacks hit major cities in Egypt in 2022. Since their was no proof of who conducted the chemical attacks, the DEP began to openly fight the Egyptian Party and ISIS-SP with a loosely organized militia. They are not well trained or organized, but in the past year they have been receiving training from Western Countries that support their democratic movement.
Relations with other parties: Currently they are friendly to US/UN Forces and view them as a welcome friend in the country. They will help when they can but due to their lack of organization, are not reliable. They have also entered into a cease fire with the Egyptian Military, coming to a conclusion that ISIS-SP is the true threat at the moment in the area. But this cease fire is fragile. They are openly hostile with ISIS-SP. Since the DEP is mostly made up of Egyptian Nationals, they are able to identify ISIS-SP members quickly and will engage on site.
Tactics: These units will generally move into combat unorganized and piecemeal. Since they can never fully organize, they will generally consolidate around conflicts involving ISIS-SP if they are aware of their presence. Since their goal is to unite the civilian population, they avoid using larger weapons in cities or towns and are not known to use IEDs. Their armaments consist mainly of Technical vehicles, small arms, and crew served weapons. It is expected that they will receive a large weapons shipment from western countries in the future, but that plan is currently delayed due to politics.
Egyptian Military:
Who are they: This is the main military of the Egyptian Government and of Queen Sarah herself. They are loyal to the Egyptian Government and have been holding an iron rule over the country since she took control in 2014 and declared martial law from 2018 until 2020 (after a major victory against ISIS-SP), where (then) President Sarah declared herself Queen of Egypt. Since then, the military has never relinquished its strict control over the citizens and continues to oppress all that oppose their Queen. They still have roughly 50% of the peoples support, but as time goes on they are slowly losing that support to the DEP and the Radical ISIS-SP.
Relations with other parties: In an effort to save face after a string of chemical attacks in Egypt, the Egyptian Military openly accepted US/ UN presence into their country. Currently they are amicable with US/ UN Forces presence to remove ISIS-SP, but are not helpful and usually create conflicts with US/ UN Forces operations in Egypt. The Egyptian Army is also in a cease-fire with the DEP due to the recent increase in ISIS-SP activity in the country, but that cease-fire could break at any time. They are hostile to ISIS-SP, their main target in the region. They will openly engage and will (occasionally) work with the DEP and US / UN Forces to help fight them.
Tactics: These units are a well organized and well supplied military, one of the strongest in the middle east. They currently have fully equipped Battalions with Armor, vehicles, weapons, a sophisticated (if not small) Airforce, and a well train Special Forces command. Their tactics are similar to those of Russia and other Eastern European Powers by utilizing Artillery to degrade their enemy's and armor and infantry to clear through the aftermath. They hold little regard to maintaining civilian relations and will openly fire into towns or cities with no hesitation. Additionally, countries like Turkey, Bulgaria, and Russia have openly supported Queen Sarah and have promised equipment and aid if needed.
3: Enemy situation (Area of Operation):
ISIS-SP: Intel has pointed to a pending attack on three Department of Defense compounds in the City of Camara. The local COP does not have the capabilities to provide support and defense of the compounds. Anticipate that ISIS-SP will conduct a level of covert reconnaissance of the area and then commence attacks with a coordinated attack.
Democratic Egyptian Party: The DEP currently has small strongholds in the AO; currently at a small town in the north. They have recently participated in key leader engagements with local tribes in the Town of Camara. Expect them to be present in the town conducting these engagements during the operation. They may participate in the defense if they are requested by Friendly forces.
