For heroic achievement while serving as an Attack Helicopter Pilot in support of combat operations. CW2 Derrick Frost and WO1 Montgomery Johnson demonstrated exceptional courage and airmanship while conducting close air support for engaged infantry forces under direct enemy fire. With disregard for their personal safeties, the Chief and the Warrant Officer executed multiple attack runs on fortified enemy positions, suppressing hostile fire and enabling the safe maneuver and extraction of ground troops. His actions were instrumental in preventing further casualties and maintaining momentum during a critical phase of the operation. CW2 Derrick Frost and WO1 Montgomery Johnson’s valorous conduct, dedication to mission success, and unwavering professionalism reflect great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
