During Mission Sandstone, despite Phoenix Squad sustaining casualties and multiple injuries during a rescue operation, RCT Jones displayed exceptional courage by joining SSG Fives in approaching the compound where SPC Mensink was held hostage. Under heavy enemy fire, the Recruit followed SSG Fives into the compound, actively participating in the high-risk clearance of enemy forces and contributing to the successful rescue effort during a critical and dangerous engagement.
