For valorous achievement while serving as an automatic rifleman with 1st Squad, 2nd Platoon, during combat operations on 13 July 2025. Following an enemy RPG strike that inflicted casualties on friendly forces, Private First Class Rocha held a defensive position alongside his squad leader, Sergeant X.Swoop, while the rest of the squad conducted casualty care. When an armed UAZ rapidly approached the position from the north, Sergeant Swoop identified the threat but was unable to engage. Without hesitation and under pressure, Private First Class Rocha calmly acquired the target and engaged with controlled fire, neutralizing both the gunner and driver with exceptional precision in just a few rounds. His decisive action and composure under fire prevented further friendly casualties and maintained the security of the squad’s position. Private First Class Rocha’s courage and effectiveness reflect great credit upon himself, Alpha Company, the 1st Battalion, and the United States Army.
