Mainu has shown immense dedication to learning how to perform recon, embodying the exact qualities that second platoon is after. After joining the platoon Mainu read all of the manuals available, and then summarised and consolidated those into his own document, while asking for feedback and input to ensure he understood the material, going above and beyond the expectation and instruction of his leadership to better himself and improve the effectiveness of his squad as a result. By asking questions to other members and showing initiative, his enthusiasm has been inspiring for others to see, and his questions inevitably help other members understand and question the material themselves. Furthermore, Mainu offered this document to other members of the platoon to aid their learning as well, showing Mainu's embodiment of selfless service. For his dedication to improving himself and the wider platoon, he should be awarded with this AAM.
