During Operation Silent Night commencing on Sunday 1st December, 1st Squad had found its OP overrun from a large surprise enemy counter attack. 80% of the squad had been wiped out, wounded or dead. With its squad leader out of commision as well as the assistant squad leader. SPC Poynor being one of the last survivors, led a group of stragglers to a consolidated position and lured the enemy in. Once knocking out the enemy’s armour capability, Poynor saw an opening to tactically withdraw from OP1 Foxtrot and head for friendly lines, bringing the last of the Survivors from first squad to safety after an insanely long march.

The SPC demonstrated outstanding dedication, professionalism, and technical expertise in his role throughout his time so far as a FO. His exceptional radio discipline and unwavering accuracy in calls for fire were critical in ensuring the success of numerous missions, and his ability to task-load while maintaining this accuracy is second-to-none. Working closely with the 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade (3CAB), SPC Poynor’s precise coordination and timely communication significantly enhanced the effectiveness of fire support operations; his professionalism and commitment to excellence set a standard for others to follow, directly contributing to the success of his unit and the overall mission. SPC Poynor’s exemplary performance reflects great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army. For setting an exemplary standard of what all FOs should aspire to achieve in the unit, he is deserving of this ARCOM.

RRO (79R - Recruiter) - For outstanding performance in RRO, his dedication and unwavering loyalty to the shop has greatly increased the shop's successes in this final quarter. The Specialist has completed over 75% of all NSOs since September. Without his efforts the amount of newly enlisted soldiers would certainly be lower. SPC Poynor's exceptional performance and unwavering loyalty reflect great credit upon himself, the 3rd Infantry Division, the United States Army, and the Department of Defense.

79R (Recruiter - RRO) -PFC Poynor, though a relatively new addition to the Recruiting and Retention Office, has quickly distinguished himself through his exceptional performance. In the month of September alone, he processed the highest number of enlistees, showcasing not only his dedication to the task but also his natural ability to connect with and guide potential recruits through the enlistment process. His proactive approach, attention to detail, and commitment to the unit’s growth have been nothing short of remarkable. As his career in Recruiting and Retention progresses, PFC Poynor is quickly becoming a key asset to the team, and his contributions are setting a high standard for others to follow.
