During this deployment Alther has been his squad’s hidden gem. While his leadership was busy with school he had zero problems by stepping up no matter what was needed of him. Even if he was flustered and overwhelmed he always gave top quality leadership to his team. He's the first person no matter what to call out when he's made a mistake and how he feels and always corrects them quickly. Even though Alther has had many challenges thrown his way this year, he has always put the unit first and shows how much he cares about his teammates and the unit ahead of himself while being the best medic and leader he can be as a squad medic. Alther's medical knowledge, situational awareness, leadership skills, and brutal honesty has shown how amazing of a medic he is, while also showing how lucky any fire team leader is to have him as their right hand during anything the enemy throws their way. For his dedication, expertise and professionalism, he is being recognized with this ARCOM.

During Shaping Effort 8, Wizards was tasked with eliminating an AA and Mortar position that would have jeopardized 1st platoon assault on the OBJ. While moving up SPC M.Alther spotted 2 SPAA’s and a tank inside of the OBJ. The squad was quickly split up so SPC Alther, SPC Koe, and SPC Anderson could go within visual distance to kill the targets while the other Fireteam could kill the Mortars. During this time. The other FT was ambushed by 2 squads of enemy recon teams and was pinned in place. SPC Alther quickly grabbed his FT and after a brief gunfight, they pushed through the recon teams killing them all. Without his leadership and quick thinking, 3 members of Wizards would have been KIA.
