(E-1) RECRUIT // DELAYED ENTRY PROGRAM

    Program Overview:

Prospective recruits aged 15 undergo a 30-day observation/probationary period known as the Delayed Entry Program (DEP), during which their Chain of Command assesses their maturity and potential. While following the standard enlistment procedures like Private Trainees, these applicants await promotion to Private Second Class based on their Chain of Command's recommendation at the DEP's conclusion. Recruiting and Retention closely monitor each applicant's progress during the DEP, implementing promotions or removals based on the Chain of Command's feedback throughout the 30 days.

    Assessment and Participation:

During the 30-day probationary period, Fireteam Leaders and Squad Leaders track applicants' activity within the unit, evaluating in-game attendance, Teamspeak, Discord, and website participation to ensure a high level of maturity and identify individuals who embody the quality we seek in the 3rd Infantry Division. While holding the rank of "Recruit," applicants can attend all events available to a regular Private Trainee. Successful completion of One Station Unit Training within this probationary period earns applicants the Army Service Ribbon, but they remain at the rank of (E-1) Recruit until the 30-day probation concludes.

Upon reaching 30 days of Time in Service (TIS), applicants are responsible for contacting their first-line leaders (e.g., Fireteam Leader and Squad Leader) to declare their eligibility for promotion. Recruiting and Retention then collaborate with these leaders to evaluate the applicant's activity and maturity levels throughout the DEP, either approving or denying their performance. This structured process ensures a thorough assessment of each individual's suitability for advancement within the 3rd Infantry Division Realism Unit.

    Outcome:

    • If Approved: The Recruit will be promoted that day to (E-2) Private Second Class.
    • If Denied: The Recruit will be reassessed on if they need to complete another 15/30 day probation or given an Entry Level Discharge. Note: (Failure to complete One Station Unit Training within the 30-day probation will result in automatic denial and given another 15/30 day probation to complete or may result in Entry Level Discharge). This is monitored by the Force Improvement Group and Recruiting and Retention as well as the Applicant's first-line leader.
