As it currently stands, if you open up C-TAB in an FTX or Operation, you'll be able to see each individual squad name, i.e. Phoenix, Scorpions, Ghosts, etc, which is attached to the Squad Leader. This gives you a general idea of where a squad is and where they are moving. Unfortunately, if a squad splits into two fire teams, which does occur when enough people are in a squad, you are not able to see where each of the fire teams is, but only where the Squad Leader is. And the SL can be in an OP, away from the movement of his squad, etc.
I am for a change where Blueforce tracking through C-TAB shows what should be visible on a C-TAB, and that is FTL positions with a designator to figure out which squad is which, which platoon is which, where the Platoon HQ element is, etc. And if that is too much of spam, which I can understand for C-TAB, perhaps just change this for an entire squad in a military designation (i.e First Platoon, First Squad = K11, First Platoon HQ = K16, etc)
I think it's worth considering. We'd need to bring it up in a CStaff meeting to determine if we want to make fireteams visible on CTAB. The change itself is simple, but it would require S2 to recreate their mission template and assign each fireteam to a separate group.
In my opinion, it might be easier to avoid splitting fireteams into separate groups in the first place, then there would be no isssues. If the group display at the bottom of your screen is a problem, you can adjust the settings to shrink or hide it entirely.
