We are proud to recognize Staff Sergeant Michael Donnelly as our Soldier of the Quarter.
SSG Donnelly enlisted in December 2021 and has since built an outstanding record of service, growth, and leadership within the 3rd Infantry Division. His milsim career spans nearly four years, including over 50 combat operations across diverse global campaigns such as Operation Blue Giant (Lithuania), Operation Crimson Sand (Turkey), Operation Northern Lights (Finland), and the ongoing Operation Egyptian Collapse (Egypt). He has operated in high-intensity environments as part of joint task forces and large-scale multinational efforts, often taking on critical frontline and support roles.
His broad range of qualifications, including Ranger, Pathfinder, Airborne, Air Assault, and Advanced Radio Communications, demonstrates his commitment to mastering his craft and pushing himself to higher standards. Rising through the ranks from a Fireteam Member to Squad Leader, and now serving as an Intelligence Analyst (35F) in the S2 section, SSG Donnelly has excelled in both combat and administrative leadership roles.
He’s also served in the Public Affairs Office as a Broadcast Combat Journalist and has contributed as a Zeus mission maker, reflecting a deep commitment to the unit both on and off the battlefield.
His distinguished list of awards includes the Meritorious Service Medal, Soldier’s Medal, Joint and Army Commendation Medals, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge (4th Award), and numerous campaign, service, and conduct awards—testament to his grit, adaptability, and devotion to duty.
SSG Donnelly leads with integrity, humility, and passion, and continues to set the standard for what it means to be a leader in the 3rd Infantry Division.
