Event details
Situation
The attack on the airfield last week made us able to secure it just a few days later. Currently it is being held by our own forces though with a motley crew and ill supplied. This is also added onto the fact that the Separatists have been moving down towards the area which we are currently trying to occupy. It will be our job to try to remove them from this area and limit their ability to conduct operations.
Mission
You are currently tasked with transporting two Hemett's to Airbase Falcon from camp Augustus. They are in need of supplies and the little we will bring will be added to what the 3rd Sustainment Brigade will provide to make the base functional and operational.
The Convoy from Camp Augustus to Airbase Falcon will be a dangerous one as you will be traveling in vehicles from one location to the other. This means you will be exposed to the Separatists along the way. We know they operate heavily in the area and due to our recent attack, the Separatist Command have been sending more units to the south of the region to reinforce it.
Once the Convoy has been completed, you will be tasked with patrolling the nearby area between Airbase Falcon and the nearby highway (See intel image). Your task will be to search through the marked areas for potential enemy ammunition or weapons. We also know that the Separatists have been known to stash weapons and ammunition in other than the known locations. If you get into contact with the locals, you may ask for permission to search their barns, warehouses, etc. Unless of course there is sufficient suspicion, then you may act without asking, but are to remain polite during the entire situation. You are also on the lookout for enemy explosives, enemy equipment and enemy mines. The Separatists have a reputation for often leaving behind several mines in an area or other explosives. This is a danger for the population and it should be dealt with.
Sometime during your mission, the Convoy of supplies will arrive from the south and make its way towards the Airbase. It is important that you have the local area mostly secure to avoid loss of supplies, though we are not sure how much the enemy knows of our movements.
Intel regarding enemy troop numbers is a bit uncertain as there has been a noted influx of Separatist to the area. How many we are not sure, but it is a considerable force that is moving, though its cohesion is lacking. S2 estimates that there may be several scattered platoon/Squad sized elements. Many of these are fighting with the use of ambushes and surprise. Expect contact even within civilian areas. There is no reports of heavy armor or anything armored. Local sources do confirm they are using a wide variety of Technical Vehicles, some civilian and some modified Russian vehicles. Thankfully, the intel that S2 has gathered seems to indicate that none of these Platoon sized elements are working to much in tandem. It may come to often, but sporadic fighting during your patrol. The Separatists have also been known to use improvised explosives, so watch your step.
