Situation

NATO forces have uncovered a covert Iranian plan to invade part of Iraqi Kurdistan under the pretext of protecting the ethnic-Iranian population there from Kurdish violence. In the wake of an investigation of this intelligence, the United Nations Security Council has approved a resolution to use military force to prevent the planned invasion.

Combined Task Force Peregrine, comprised of armed forces from the US, Great Britain, Germany, and Turkey, is mobilizing troops and equipment to conduct preemptive strikes on military targets in Iran. Deployed in northern Iraq as part of Operation Crimson Sand, the 3rd Infantry Division has been tasked with the initial assault on Iranian targets north of the border.

Mission

Alpha Company “War Eagles” is ordered to conduct an airborne assault on an Iranian  airbase 4 kilometers north of the Iraq-Iran border. Capture the base and destroy armor and aircraft in order to disrupt the Iranian planned invasion.

First Platoon “Widowmakers” is tasked with parachuting onto DZ Mudstain and maneuvering to assault OBJ Cyrus, an Iranian military airbase. Capture the airbase and begin fortifying the position in preparation for expected enemy counterattacks.

Second Squad “Griffins” is tasked with a force-oriented zone reconnaissance of the area surrounding OBJ Darius and OBJ Shapur in order to identify and mark enemy forces moving to or in position to counterattack the airbase.

Third Combat Aviation Brigade “Falcons” is tasked with aviation support of First and Second Platoons, including airborne insertion, air assault, transport, resupply, medevac, and CAS.

(a) MINE DETECTORS: Squad and Fireteam Leaders should use mine detectors at all times due to the risk of anti-personnel mines and IED.

(c) DEMOLITION CHARGES: M112 Demolition Blocks for destroying enemy caches and other targets as needed (Rangers only).

(d) FIM-92 STINGERS: For destroying enemy aircraft.
