Company CTC Mission 2- Offensive Operations 14APR24

    OVERALL CTC SUMMARY:

Finish Government has allowed us to occupy forces on an island of Napf in the Baltic sea with the Swedish forces as a staging position in response to the riots in the country. Napf island is a small island that has a population of roughly 40,000 people on it. Due to its large amounts of unused land, the Finnish Government have utilized it for large scale training exercises and a staging position for allied military’s before they come to the mainland.

    Current Situation:

Our CTC (Combined Training Center) rotation will cover a 4 week evaluation period on the island of Napf, a training area in the Gulf of Bothnia owned by Finland. Once we complete this CTC, we will be certified to deploy in support of the Finnish Government.

The Finnish military currently has the Kainuu BDE relocated in the North Eastern Military Base in order to give the Swedish and US Forces plenty of space to train in. They have identified locations no Swedish and US forces can go into on the map by red areas. Additionally they have a multiple BN’s of Irregulars located throughout the island being trained by the Kainuu BDE. As we saw the last week, the Finnish Military is being difficult with Coalition forces. The tensions between the military and the government is evident with Finnish forces sending drones to observe our training as well as closing off areas as they dictate, no matter what we are doing. It is imperative that we remain neutral with Finnish forces and not add to the tensions already present on the island.

The Swedish forces have already occupied the South West portion with the Norrland Dragoon Regiment. The US forces have already staged some initial equipment but most forces are located in the Naval Convoy to the Southwest of the Island.

Week 1 was an expedient deployment from ships onto the island directly into a movement into the training AO. From there we conducted convoy operations to evaluate the Company on their ability to face enemy forces while on the move and to transport equipment to various locations. We identified that the units can operate in convoy operations as necessary but need to be more deliberate to avoid identified ambush locations.

    1: Mission Summary:

War Eagles will conduct offensive operations on the island of Napf. This portion of the operation will be evaluated on a cordon and search for OBJ Blizzard Strike, a deliberate attack on a complex objective at OBJ Frozen Frontier, and a movement to contact to clear enemy forces in the area around OBJ Arctic Thunder. The Company as a whole will be evaluated on their ability to coordinate with one another on offensive operations.

2: Enemy Situation (Area of Interest):

Company Evaluation has no "Big Picture" Enemy AO information.

3: Enemy situation (Area of Operation):

The enemy force seen today will be a collections of rioters located across the AO. Currently there is a concentration or rioters located in three locations that War Eagles will need to address; OBJ Blizzard Strike, OBJ Frozen Fortress, and OBJ Arctic Thunder. OBJ Blizzard Strike is a small town that has had a presence of rioters. They have also stored equipment and supplies in the town that must be identified and disposed of. OBJ Frozen Fortress is a Rioter stronghold that have multiple complex obstacles belts around it preventing any forces from approaching. These obstacles will need to be breached to secure the local dam. OBJ Arctic thunder is an area with enemy presence in it. The enemy’s location is unknown and will need to be searched to identify any headquarters and clear out any forces. Expect to see an influx of enemy equipment to include turret emplacements, motorized armor assets, and additionally an armor and mechanized PLT in support of the enemy formations. We are stepping up the enemy's capabilities since there have been reports of the rioters obtaining older soviet equipment. It appears the Rioters in the country of Finland have been getting outside help, although we are not sure where it is coming from yet. The Finnish military has been difficult with information prior to the deployment, so we will prepare as if the rioters have some older soviet era equipment.

4: Friendly Situation (Area of Interest):

War Eagles will conduct offensive operations for this week. The tasks to be conducted will be a cordon and search of a town, a deliberate attack of a complex obstacle and position, and a movement to contact in an area. The Company as a whole will be evaluated on their ability to coordinate between the different elements to accomplish these tasks. With the growing concerns of the Rioters capabilities, we are going to present the Company with a hybrid threat in prepared positions.

    8: Rules of Engagement

    - This area is a training ground but still houses civilians. Enemy forces will be clearly identified in woodland camouflage. Any forces in snow camouflage are considered friendly due to other units training on the island.

    - Do not utilize any explosives or weapons larger then 12.7mm within the vicinity of the dam.

    - Finnish Forces appear to be harassing coalition forces on the island during training, do not engage or interfere with them. We do not need an incident with our hosts while we train on the island.

    - Any areas with a red shade over them are considered off limits by the Finnish forces and are not to be entered.

    - Enemy uniformed personnel are free to engage within the assigned AO. Any engagements outside of the Company AO must be approved by Company leadership. No indirect fires (IDF, Aerial, and Mk19) within 250 meters of any building unless confirmed there is no civilian presence or approval from Company leadership. Civilians are not part of the CTC, so do not interact with them.

    - Due to limitations of supply into the region, Hellfires on drones have been limited. Only 4 Hellfires are authorized for this mission.

    - Due to continued civilian use of the airspace, all military aircraft will be held to 2000 meters AGL or less. Finnish forces have informed us that any military equipment that breaks the restriction are subject to engagement.
