    After action report

    Objectives:

    Rescue 3 US Tourists that have been kidnapped. Marking or destroying hostile weapons caches

    Accidents:

    2x CPL J.Kiheri, 2x PV2 G.Keeler, 2x PV2 D.King, One Damaged but not destroyed up armored HMMWV with 50 cal.

    Areas of Strength:

    Communication, Security, and PID.

    Areas of Weakness:

    IED and mine mitigation.

    Summary:

    During Platoon Brief, a Vbed denoted stating an attack on the FOB Sliver Shield. 1st squad Moved to secure the south of the FOB. Some time during the attack, artillery strike landed one 1st position. Killing all of 1st squad. Moving to retake the southern sector, another strike land killing both CPL J.Kiheri and PV2 G.Keeler. After retake the southern sector 1st squad moved to scavenge a HMMWV after be ordered to make a convoy; Moving to destroy the Enemy staging point. Once in the proximity of the camp a HMG took out both the driver and the gunner of the HMMWV for a short time.  Once they where resuscitated 1st squad moved to a vantage point overlooking the town. While moving to the over watch point the HMMWV hit a mine. After 2nd Squad took the camp, 1st Squad moved to a supportive role engaging contacts coming form the East and North. Once we where relived by another unit, 1st Squad disengaged and pushed back to FOB Sliver Shield ending the mission.
