Summary:

During the mission silver shield we took an extremely heavy complex attack that encompassed the entire FOB. During the time as 1st Platoon Widowmakers got ready to repel the attack, 3CAB ran back to the airfield to start mobilizing any support that we could offer so that we might be in a position to provide intelligence during the operation . As we reached the airfield we quickly realized that the airfield itself was also under attack to the upwind side of the runway where we identified several foot mobiles and technical in the area. Using the armored  vehicles that were on standby provided us with M2 and M249 weapon systems to repel the attack. As we fought off the insurgency we started to take heavy indirect fire which resulted in the loss of 1 x fuel truck, 1 x repair truck, 1 x AH64D "Apache", and 1 x "Yabhon-R3". Shortly after we loss these assets we managed to get Eagle 2 in the air, but was shortly engaged by anti-air weaponry which resulted in the loss of our second Yabhon-R3, and then grounding 3CAB from sending up any airframes from the FOB itself.

Shortly after we repelled the insurgency that broke through the airfield perimeter, another Yabhon-R3 entered our airspace from a sister unit also deployed in the area, at which with their permission we were able to gain control and utilize this asset for our own mission assignment. Callsign "Punchline" was in the area trying to get a inquiry about aerial drone support when he handed off a Raven to Candidate Stain, who then used to provide minute-to-minute intelligence reports to assist in clearing out the remaining enemy forces.

 

As a side note, when we reach the airfield we quickly realized that almost all vehicles and airframes were black on fuel, a mistake by the previous occupying unit which directly resulted in 3CAB loosing almost all of it's combat effectiveness, thus not allowing us to complete our mission.
