    Areas of Strength

Lots of motivation and knowledge in the lower enlisted. Members who showed up were excited and even asked for more instruction at the end just to get better.

    Areas of Weakness

Medical training could use more improvement. We made great strides today but overall still need work.

    Suggested Improvements

Currently going to push most of the junior soldiers to go to CLS in November and possibly more medical training down the road.

    Mission Summary

    This was the following plan

    1) Basic and Advanced Medical training- We will be spending roughly 45 mins of the drills going over basic to advanced medical training for all Soldiers. We will be instructing the following subjects; bandage types and when to apply them (for appropriate wounds), reiterate basic TCCC core concepts, simulated lanes for casualty care and care under fire, and a base level loadout/SOP for what medical equipment each Soldier should have with them. SPC Winters and SPC Holmes will be the primary instructors for this lane.

    2) Convoy Drills- This will be broken into multiple lanes in a crawl, walk, run to instruct all Soldiers how to identify IED's, obstacles, and points of interest to convey back to the platoon convoy. I will be the primary instructor for this lane.

    3) React to Direct Fire- This will consist of a small lane in formations where the Squad will take direct fire from an enemy position (not in an urban environment). We will begin with a walk through of our reactions prior to running the lane. We will react with Battle Drill 1A (React to Contact) in a live simulated environment. I will be the primary instructor for this lane.

Overall i will continue to go forward and have Junior enlisted teach a portion of Squad Drills to bring real life experience into the Squad. Overall IED training was effective and was informative for the junior enlisted. With our Medic going on LOA soon we plan to do more medical training to keep our new medic up to speed with what is needed to be successful.
