Areas of Strength
Team members teaching classes were excited and effective. The new member of the Squad learned alot and overall it is good to have a majority of the Squad participate in Squad Drills.
Areas of Weakness
We need to conduct more admin work on the side to ensure mods, files, and other connectivity issues are not as present. I had roughly 3 people have connection issues that interrupted training time more then necessary. Also training lasted a little long from large number of training objectives.
Suggested Improvements
Lower number of training objectives for each week.
Mission Summary
Scorpions started with a CLS lane. We established and trained the new members to move into an area, eliminate hostiles, and secure personnel while providing initial tactical aid. After that we conducted training on vehicles and their capabilities against IEDs. We then briefed what to look for with IEDs and how to identify areas that they would be used. Once we did that we trained on React to Near Ambush where PFC Franklin brought real life experience into the instruction. Once that was completed we then moved into a lane of IED clearance and personnel recovery from an objective. The Squad put new members in the gunner seat to guide the vehicles and conduct convoy corrections from potential IEDs. They faced multiple IED hazards as well as multiple ambushes. Overall was a good training event.
