Japans signs formal surrender
Reported By SPC D.McKenzie
On September 2nd, 1945, aboard the USS Missouri, the Japanese foreign minister Mamoru Shigemitsu signed the Instrument of the Japanese surrender. Prior to this day, it was announced by Emperor Hirohito following the nuclear bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. We honor this day of celebration and remembrance of those on both sides of the war.
