National Medal of Honor day 2022

We honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the preservation of human life, in the face of unyielding danger. Today is National Medal of Honor day.
The Medal of Honor(or MoH) was made an official decoration on March 3rd, 1863. At this time the award was only authorized to U.S. Army Officers, by the 25th of the same month, the Medal was awarded to 6 U.S. Army volunteers during the American Civil War.
Over the centuries, the Medal of Honor has been awarded to 3,468 servicemembers of the Army, Airforce, Marines, Navy, and Coast Guard.

Sergeant First Class Christopher Celiz (1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment)
Master Sergeant Earl D. Plumlee (C Co. 1st Special Forces Group(Airborne))
And Sergeant Major Thomas P. Payne (U.S. SOCOM)
