On this day, January 27th, 2024 marks 51 years since the cease-fire of the Vietnam conflict. Passed by the US Congress, vowing to prohibit all future military action in Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. As tensions on the US Home front were at an all-time high, with the civilian population being heavily anti-war, the death toll since the start of the conflict was one of high debate, but ultimately US death toll was set at 58,281, with 153,372 wounded, 1,584 Missing in Action, and 766 to 778 in POW camps. While we remember the events of the cease-fire, let us also remember those who served in its bloody conflict.
