Tell us a little about yourself?

So, my name is Alvin Nikeus, I am 16 years old and I live and come from southern Sweden. On my spare time I really enjoy watching shows or movies, right now I'm in the middle of watching The Walking Dead. I also spend much of my time hanging out with my friends in real life or playing video games with them. I'm currently getting ready for school to become a assitant nurse in a few years, and then continuing my studies to become a Trauma Nurse. I'm also very interested in military aviation and the military in general. I'm striving to one day join the Swedish Army to be a Medic.

Why did you join 3rdID and what keeps you here?

Well, I got Arma 3 on a steam sale and ended up sending a message in the "looking for unit" channel in the Arma 3 Discord. I ended up being messaged by Major himself telling me a little about the unit. So, I checked it out and it was a perfect fit for me. I joined at 15 years old as a Recruit some time in late 2021. I ended up having to leave the unit due to very much going on in my life at the time, but made the decision to come back to the unit in June of 2022, and I've stayed ever since.

What keeps me here is definitely the people that I get to play with every weekend. I always look forward for the next weekend to arrive so that I get to have all the fun and enjoyable moments that I get from the people in this unit.

Any favorite/funny/memorable moment throughout your whole time in the unit?

My favorite moment from this unit is pretty recent. During a FunOp me, SFC Winters and SPC Perez ended up clearing the same building, which in some way led to SFC Winters cuffing me and Perez inside the building and detonating a demo block inside the building with me and Perez still inside. That's one moment from this unit that I for sure won't forget in a long time.

Any advice to give to your fellow soldiers to help them in their careers here?

My best advice to Soldiers in this unit is to stay motivated, active and dedicated to the unit. Have a good mindset and have your own goals, and strive to reach those goals, and once you do, set up some new goals. That will definitely take you far here.

What army value is the most important to you and why?

The most important Army Value for me is definitely Respect. Without caring to respect yourself or others you're not gonna get far. Respecting others will makes others Respect you, for who you are and what you do. Being respectful to others will help you make new friends, create new relationships, get people to have trust in you and much more. Being respectful will get you far

What motivates you in the unit?

My biggest motivation in this unit is definitely the people. Getting the opportunity to have a great time playing games and talking to people in this unit is like getting a golden ticket every time. Getting to hop on to play Arma or others games or just hanging around in the teamspeak talking to people is a guaranteed good time. Hadn't it been for the great friends and people here I probably wouldn't have made it this long in the unit.

Any valuable lessons you have learned while being in the Unit?

The most valuble lesson I've learned in this unit is definitely staying dedicated to your goals and making sure you reach them. Let's say that you want to pursue a career as a Medic, or Squad Leader, and what not in this unit, make sure you stay dedicated to your goals and that you push your hardest and do your best work to be able to reach your goals. If I hadn't done my absolute best at all times I wouldn't have been able to do all the things I have done in this unit.
