  • Mission Mission Unshackled Sky

    Start: 05/01/21 19:00
    End: 05/01/21 21:00

    Situation:

GSIM saw an influx in funding due to hostilities towards local villages in the past month. Because of that, they have been able to get their hands on some cold-war era soviet equipment including AA launchers and AAA vehicles. Additionally due to the failure of locating and destroying enemy fuel depots and ammo caches in the last mission, they will be heavily armed and mobile. The GSIM has started scanning targets leaving and arriving at the Agadez drone base and were able to take out an MQ-9 Reaper Drone.

    Mission:

Alpha Company is tasked with finding the wreckage based on its last known position and trajectory (see annex a.). The drone was still equipped with its payload of 2x GBU-12 Paveway II’s. Data shows that the bombs are still intact and need to be safely detonated alongside the remains of the drone before the GSIM gets to them. Additionally, the drone’s black box, or its data, needs to be secured and transmitted back to FOB Silver Shield for further data analysis to locate the enemy AA/AAA positions which may potentially reveal locations of the GSIM strongholds in the area. First Platoon will attempt to talk to the town council of Tin Daoulne to discover the location of the downed drone, however, attempts made by Camp Silver Dagger have been met with either silence or hostile behaviour. It is believed to be an extremist Muslim hotspot with strong ties to the GSIM and one of the few villages with decent infrastructure. If the data can be transmitted and decoded in a timely manner, Widowmakers will continue to take out the AA/AAA installations. If not, Widowmakers are expected at Camp Silver Dagger for debrief. Throughout the mission we are gun code orange, “do not fire unless fired upon”. Due to the AA/AAA threat there is also a no-fly zone established north of Camp Silver Dagger (annex a.).
