      Celebrating Staff Sergeant Daniel Shade's retirement, who retires as First Platoon Forward Observer. SSG D.Shade reenlisted into the 3rd Infantry Division MilSim Unit for a second tour on January 19, 2020 and served with distinction in his time here. He moved up through the ranks and various leadership positions such as Fireteam Leader, First Squad Squad Leader, First Platoon Radiotelephone Operator, and First Platoon Forward Observer. In every billet, he has been leading from the front!

      Staff Sergeant Shade earned and received a number of medals during his time here in the 3rd Infantry Division such as the Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal with "V" device and oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with "C" device and oak leaf clusters, and many other decorations. He also earned his Combat Infantry Badge Stage 3 in First Squad. SSG D.Shade graduated from a number of special schools within the unit including Ranger, Airborne, Air Assault, and more! He used the experience and knowledge from these schools to lead and support infantry forces when called upon as an honorable example to all others during his time here.
