      The 3rd Infantry Division Realism Unit extends to you our personal thanks and sincere appreciation of your contribution of honorable service to our unit. You have made a lasting impact on the unit’s history and thanks to your devotion to duty and a spirit of sacrifice in keeping with the proud traditions of military service.

       Your commitment and dedication have been an inspiration for those who will follow in your footsteps, and for all those who join us in saluting you for a job extremely “well done.”

      Celebrating Staff Sergeant David Sklenar's retirement, who retires as First Platoon Readiness NCO. SSG D.Sklenar first enlisted in August of 2019, assigned as Fireteam Member of First Platoon, Second Squad. Later switching over to 3CAB as an Aviation Crew Chief in early December of 2019, and then moved again as First Platoon's Radio Operator in February of 2020. By March 2020, SSG Sklenar was promoted to the rank of Corporal and assigned as Alpha Companies Intelligence Analyst. SSG Sklenar retired at the rank of Sergeant in December of 2021, then later reenlisted in February of 2022 as a Fireteam member of First Squad. SSG David Sklenar retired in September of 2022.

      Staff Sergeant Sklenar earned and received a number of medals during his time here in the 3rd Infantry Division such as the Soldier's Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal with oak leaf cluster, and many other decorations. He also earned his Combat Infantry Badge Stage 3 in Alpha Company, along with Airborne Wings with 2 combat stars, Air Assault wings, and Ranger tab. SSG D.Sklenar graduated from a number of special schools within the unit including Ranger, Airborne, Air Assault, and more! All the awards and schools have led to SSG Sklenar to show great leadership and skill in his years with the 3rd Infantry Division. SSG David Sklenar, we thank you for your service.
