      Today we celebrate the retirement of Staff Sergeant Emil Poltorak, SSG Poltorak joined The 3rd Infantry Division in May of 2016 as a Private Trainee. After two months while he was enlisted as a Private Trainee he got his first Awarded Combat Infantryman Badge in July 2016 while in Operation Bronze Fire.

      While serving in Second Squad, the then SPC Poltorak took on the Team Leader position before moving again to the 4th Squad as Team Leader in early November of 2020. In Late November 2021, SGT Poltorak was given the Weapons Squad Leader position in 3rd Squad where he spent the next 7 months as well as achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant until his transfer to the Reserves in June of 2022.

      Staff Sergeant Poltorak Retired on December 3rd, 2022 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. Some of his awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, the Army Commendation Medal With Valor Device, the European Campaign Medal With Arrowhead, the Iraq Campaign Medal With One Star, the Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, the African Campaign Medal With Arrowhead, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, 4 Humanitarian Service Medals, Airborne Wings, Air Assault Wings, Ranger Tab, and lastly the Master Recruiters Badge.
