      Today we celebrate the retirement of Staff Sergeant Jay Lewis, SSG Lewis joined The 3rd Infantry Division as an enlistee back in September 2021, and after two months SSG Jay Lewis was promoted to Specialist. While at the rank of Specialist, he then earned his NCO Professional Development Ribbon (NCODEV), one month later earning the rank of Corporal

      In July 2022 the then Sergeant Lewis was appointed the Readiness NCO for Alpha Company, First Platoon while serving as an intelligence analyst. In October 2022 Sergeant Lewis was reassigned to Fireteam Leader for First Squad, First Platoon where he served until his retirement in January 2023

      While during his service, Staff Sergeant Lewis earned a Purple Heart, 2 ARCOM's with Valor, 3 JSAM, 4 AAM, The European Campaign Medal with Arrowhead, The Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Air Assault Wings, Airborne Wings With 2 Combat Stars, and finally the Ranger Tab.

      Staff Sergeant Lewis had served as a 21Y Uniform Updater a 25M Multimedia Illustrator a 35F Intelligence Analyst a 79R Recruiter a 11B1H Range Safety Officer and as NCOIC of the Combat Imaging and Documentation Department.
