      Soldier's Medal

Tell us a little about yourself. I am an avid gamer and a member of the U.S Military. I have 2 dogs and currently am stationed in Germany. I also enjoy hiking and traveling around Europe when I get the opportunity.

Why did you join 3rdID? I joined 3ID because i was looking for a serious Arma III gaming group to play with. I had been in a few different groups and have been in every position from team member or medic, up to Zeus for 30+ members but i never really found a serious style unit to play with. I enjoy the atmosphere and friends I have made here and am hoping to one day to at least take leadership of a Squad or become the Forward Observer in the unit.

Any favorite/funny/memorable moment throughout your whole time in the unit? I would say the most memorable moment i have encountered in this unit would be during the CLS course i took when i first joined. We had roughly 8 people, to include the instructors, and during the mission we were regrouping in a building when one of the instructors took control of an enemy combatant and then unknowingly killed himself causing him to lose control of the AI and be forced to stay unconscious.

Any advice to give to your fellow soldiers? Just be active and open in communication. If you cant make it, let your leadership know, and when you can make it be eager and try to step up wherever you can. Ops are fun and if you come often and what turns out to be just a gaming event turns into something you look forward to each week.

What army value is the most important to you and why? This is a hard question because they each correlate with one another. If i had to choose it would be integrity. If you can not have integrity and stay true to yourself or others then you can not be relied upon. People will not trust you, your honor will be in question and you will eventually become a person others do not like or want to be around.

What motivates you ? Honestly i just enjoy tactical level problem solving and thinking. During ops or drills i always want to be in the best position to help everyone i can and i enjoy the fluidity that comes with a battle that allows me to develop my complex decision making process.

Any valuable lessons you have learned while being in the unit? This is something that i still struggle with at times, but patience. Everyone comes from different backgrounds and have different stories that all lead up to how they act or do things. Its important to be patient and try to work with them in any way possible.
